India agrees with US on food stockpiling, clears way for WTO deal

New Delhi, Nov 13 (ANI): India has reached an agreement with the United States on public stockpiling of food, Trade Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, said on Thursday (November 13), paving the way for the implementation of a global trade facilitation deal that has been stalled for months. The proposals will be reviewed by the World Trade Organization's General Council, she added, expressing the hope that approval would clear the way for India to sign a protocol enabling implementation of the trade accord. Gas pipeline leak causes fire in Mumbai colony

Mumbai, Nov 13 (ANI): Residents of a colony in Mumbai woke up to a fire, early morning on Thursday. The fire, which broke out in the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) colony, one belonging to the state-run oil marketing company, was due to a leak in a gas pipeline. As per media reports, eight fire engines were rushed to the spot. No injuries have been reported so far. Fire safety regulations are lax, rarely implemented and not periodically reviewed in most places across India, which results in the breaking of major fire, resulting in loss of life and material. Politicos demand Health Minister's resignation over sterilisation camp negligence case

Raipur, Nov 13 (ANI): Political leaders on Thursday demanded resignation of Chhattisgarh Health Minister Amar Agarwal after more than a dozen women died at a mass sterilisation camp. Machil fake encounter case: Seven armymen sentenced to life imprisonment

Sopore, Nov 13 (ANI): The family members of the youths who were killed in a fake encounter in Machil sector of Jammu and Kashmir, expressed satisfaction after the army on Thursday convicted seven men, including two officers and five soldiers, for their involvement in the case. In the 2010 Machil fake encounter case, three youths - Mohamad Shafi, Shehzad Ahmed and Riyaz Ahmed, were killed after being lured for jobs in Jammu and Kashmir, according to Ministry of Defence (MOD) sources. All the service benefits of the seven convicted armymen have also been suspended reportedly.
