Patna, Feb 22 (ANI): Nitish Kumar after taking oath as chief minister of Bihar, addressed mediapersons in Patna and expressed gratitude to all the dignitaries who attended his swearing-in ceremony. Kumar thanked Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, UP CM Akhilesh Yadav and Assam CM Tarun Gogoi among others. He also said that Congress President Sonia Gandhi could not attend the event but sent a letter congratulating him. Kumar also said that he took over as the chief minister of the state as the people were not happy with his decision to resign from the post. He also talked about his vision for development of Bihar. Couples from impoverished families tie nuptial knot at mass wedding in Allahabad

Allahabad, Feb 22 (ANI): Twenty-five couples from impoverished families tied nuptial knot at a mass wedding organized by Prerna Parmarth Ashram in Allahabad. Overjoyed couples, who were coming from economically and socially weak families, were happy at the series of events. The couples were married without any restrictions of caste and with the consent of their parents. Social activist Anurag Verma said that the aim of this mass wedding is to marry the children from poor families according to the customs and traditions of the society. Verma added that such mass weddings are funded by the small donations made by the people associated with the ashram. One of the bride said that she was happy to be wedded with all the rituals. "Congratulations on your second victory in ICC World Cup 2015; the first ever win against S.Africa in World Cup matches," President Mukherjee tweeted soon after the team's victory. Meanwhile, BSF jawans in Jammu district also celebrated the spectacular win as they danced and rejoiced with each other. Patna, Feb 22 (ANI): Senior Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Bihar on Sunday evening. This will be his fourth stint as the Chief Minister. He was administered the oath of office and secrecy at the Raj Bhawan in Patna by Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi attended the ceremony. The ceremony was also attended by Kumar's predecessor, Jitan Ram Manjhi, who had stepped down on Friday after a lengthy battle to hang on to the chief minister's post.
