New Delhi, Nov 12 (ANI): The Congress sparked a controversy on Wednesday after it invited 15 political parties from other countries and "all like-minded political parties" for an international conference in Delhi to commemorate the 125th birth anniversary of India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, while skipping Prime Minister Narendra Modi. PM Modi to attend 12th ASEAN-India Summit in Myanmar today

New Delhi, Nov 12 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be attending the 12th ASEAN -India Summit in Myanmar capital Nay Pyi Taw today. The Prime Minister arrived in Myanmar on Tuesday, following which he met with the country's President, Thein Sein. During their meeting, Prime Minister Modi and President Sein discussed the strengthening of ties between New Delhi and Nay Pyi Taw in the fields of culture, commerce and connectivity. India gets minister for yoga and traditional medicine

New Delhi, Nov 12 (ANI): India set up a ministry to promote alternative therapies such as yoga and traditional ayurveda medicine, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a mission to raise awareness and the appeal of home-grown health treatments. Modi has repeatedly called for greater use of India's health remedies and exercises, part of a push to promote traditional learning. During his first address at the United Nations in September, he encouraged more people to take up yoga and called for an International Yoga Day. Shripad Naik, who took charge of the ministry, said that the ministry would take forward the traditional ayurveda medicine to make India disease-free. Nov 12, 2014

BJP accuses Congress leader of stashing black money

New Delhi, Nov 12 (ANI): India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has alleged that many senior leaders of opposition Congress party had stashed black money not only abroad but also at home. BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra, during a news briefing accused spokesperson of Congress party, Abhishek Manu Singhvi, of evading taxes and generating black money. Patra was reacting to the Income Tax Department's Settlement Commission move to slap Singhvi with a penalty of Rs. 56.57 crore, and its decision to add over Rs. 91.95 crore to his declared professional income for a period of three years. Patra said that the Income Tax department also contested Singhvi’s claim that he purchased laptops worth rupees five crore for his staff members over three financial years. Nov 12, 2014

Shiv Sena vows to vote against BJP in Maharashtra, to sit in opposition

Mumbai, Nov 12 (ANI): With just hours to go for the trust vote in the Maharashtra assembly, Shiv Sena on Wednesday said that the party will be voting against state Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who will be seeking vote of confidence in the state assembly today. Party leader Ramdas Kadam said that Uddhav Thackeray has decided to sit in opposition in Maharashtra. He said that Shiv Sena is trying its best to sort things out from past month, nut the BJP is not ready to change which ultimately resulted in this decision. An engineer working on restoration, Nayeem Ahmad, said the damaged walls need to be repaired soon as the tourists feel unsafe to walk besides the lake. The tourism industry has again picked up after the disaster as tourists from across the world have started visiting the valley. The damaged parapet walls of the Dal Lake are making it difficult for tourists to enjoy the beauty as the walls made for sitting purpose can break anytime.
