ML Khattar to take oath as Haryana CM

Panchkula, Oct 26 (ANI): BJP leader Manohar Lal Khattar will be taking oath as the Chief Minister of Haryana on Sunday. He will be sworn in as the Chief Minister by Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki at a grand ceremony in Panchkula. Preparations are currently underway for the oath taking ceremony in Panchkula's HUDA ground which will be reportedly attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other NDA leaders. Khattar won the recent assembly elections from the Karnal seat and prior to that he was the Chairman of BJP's Haryana Election Campaign Committee for the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections. He will be the first Chief Minister of Haryana belonging to the Bharatiya Janata Party. Contesting the Haryana Assembly polls on its own for the first time, the BJP attained a majority by bagging 47 of the 90 assembly seats in the state. Oct 26, 2014

Landslide in Kashmir disrupts vehicular movement on national highway

Ramban, Oct 26 (ANI): Landslide in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir disrupted vehicular movement on the national highway. The big boulders and soil besides big pine trees rolled down on to the road in Batote areas that blocked vehicular traffic. Efforts are being made at war level to clear the road for at least one-way traffic by the General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF) men and machinery. Hundreds of vehicles, including passenger vehicles, were stranded. The inmates of nine other nearby houses have been alerted, as reportedly, the land breach was steadily widening. Oct 26, 2014

9 Killed, many Injured in bus accident at Nagaon in Assam

Assam, Oct 26 (ANI): Nine people have been killed and many injured in a bus accident at Nagaon in Assam. The mishap occurred at around 2 am on Sunday. The bus belonged to the Assam State Transport Corporation and was going from Lakhimpur district to Guwahati. A total of 33 people were reportedly on the bus. Women in Manipur become self-reliant by making use of water reed

Manipur, Oct 26 (ANI): These women folk gather at the residence of Akhom Rasho Singh at Kongha Nangdeibam Leikai in Imphal East to get training in making products out of water reed, locally known as Kouna, an easily available aquatic weed. Rasho set up "Akhom Kouna Crafts" centre in 2003 and conducts training programmes across the state. It helps many unemployed people to become self-reliant. Water Reed products like bags, cushions, mats, boxes, baskets and several other decorative items have become a special attraction in Manipur and rest of the country. "Akhom Kouna Crafts" also export some products to the United States. The women workers are happy to be able to earn a decent living and are keen to impart training to other unemployed youth. Youth Congress holds protest over black money

Bangalore, Oct 25 (ANI): Youth Congress workers staged a protest on Saturday against the central government for failing to bring black money back into the country, as promised during the Lok Sabha elections. The protesters also raised slogans like 'Why these double standards? Why make false promises?' PM Modi inaugurates Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital

Mumbai, Oct 25 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai. The hospital, in its 90th year, has been completely rebuilt by Reliance Foundation, into a modern 19-storey tower with two heritage wings. The foundation is headed by Nita Ambani. For the first time, the hospital has collaboration with America's most renowned institutes like Johns Hopkins, MD Anderson Cancer Centre, Massachusetts General Hospital and University of Southern California. The hospital will reserve a fifth of its capacity for the underprivileged and provide 10 percent beds for free to the needy and another 10 percent at subsidised rates. Celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, ShahRukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Sachin Tendulkar among many others were also present during the inauguration.
