Hashim Ansari alleged Congress creating Modi fear among Muslims, BJP says Congress doing vote bank p

New Delhi, Dec 07 (ANI): Mohammad Hashim Ansari accused Congress of creating fear of BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi among Muslims and that Modi needs the community's support to win the elections. A day after the allegation, BJP Spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said that Congress is scared of Modi's popularity and is doing vote bank politics and nothing else. He said that Congress considers Muslims just as vote bank and not as 'suffering lot'. Javadekar also said that now people have understood the ruling party's politics and would not support the same.

Experts hope for peace and tranquility in Bangladesh ahead of elections

Belgium, Dec 07 (ANI): Experts gathered in European parliament and called for peace and tranquility, as they discussed the grim political situation in Bangladesh due to the ongoing clash between the leading parties which could delay or even derail elections due by January in the country. Recently, the European parliament passed a resolution on Bangladesh, urging the parties to refrain from violence and conduct elections in a peaceful manner. Commenting over political uncertainty, Bangladesh Information Commissioner, Sadeka Halim said that the international friends are concerned about the current turmoil. Member of the European Parliament for London for the Conservative Party, Timothy Charles Ayrton Tannock is pinning hopes on free and fair elections.

Narendra Modi writes to CMs against anti-communal bill, BJP says centre encroaching on state subject

Sanjay Dutt gets parole for wife's illness

Mumbai, Dec 07 (ANI): Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, who is serving his sentence at Yerawada Central Jail in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case, has been granted a parole for 30 days to take care of wife Manyata, who is ill. If formalities are completed, he is likely to be released on Saturday. Reacting over this advocate Abha Singh said that she believes that Sanjay has been getting preferential treatment because of his celebrity status.

People protest against violence in poll-bound Bangladesh

Dhaka, Dec 07 (ANI): People of Bangladesh, including the freedom fighters of the Bangladesh Liberation War, protested against poll-related violence in the country. At least 25 people were killed across the country during nationwide protests called by opposition parties over setting up of a caretaker government during January polls. A veteran freedom fighter, Ali Ahmed Ziauddin, blamed both the main political parties - the opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and ruling Awami League - for the bloodshed in the country. President of the Communist Party of Bangladesh, Mujahidul Islam Selim, urged people to fight against the darkness prevailing in the country. The BNP-led agitation has virtually paralysed the country straight for the second week.

India approves draft of WTO deal

Bali, Dec 07 (ANI): Union Trade Minister, Anand Sharma said that he would endorse a draft trade reform at the World Trade Organisation, removing a major obstacle to a deal. World Trade Organisation (WTO) kicked off the biennial ministerial meeting on December 04 to discuss new global trade measures in Indonesia. Representatives from 159 countries took turns to read out their statements on each country's decision on the ongoing negotiating issues, including food subsidies and trade facilitation. The Trade minister told reporters that he was more than happy and it was a great day for the nation.
