Aam Aadmi Party should form govt in Delhi with Congress: Kirti Azad

New Delhi, Dec 12 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kirti Azad on Thursday said that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) should form the government in Delhi with support from the Congress. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) , the single largest group in the 70-seat house with 31 members, as well as the AAP, which won 28 seats in its very first election, have refused to form a government.

AAP will not celebrate till corruption is removed: Kejriwal

New Delhi, Dec 12 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal has said that they cannot celebrate unless and until corruption is weeded out of the country and also lauded volunteers for extending their support towards the movement. Hundreds of activists wearing boat-shaped "Gandhi caps" bearing the slogan, "I am a common man", gathered at the party's modest headquarters, cheering and waving brooms in the air to symbolize a clean-out of rotten politicians. Kejriwal also praised the volunteers who not only gathered from India but also from across the world. Congratulating the volunteers, Kejriwal also expressed his gratitude towards the family members of the supporters. The AAP also declared that it has decided to take the plunge into national politics by contesting the Lok Sabha elections.

Manish Tewari slams Pak for banning Indian films and serials on TV

New Delhi, Dec 12 (ANI): After imposing restrictions on screening of 'illegal' Indian films in the country, Pakistan has now banned the screening of Indian television shows as well. Pakistan court has stopped the screening of foreign films, serials and television shows, especially Indian content, on the country's TV channels. While staying the beaming of foreign content, the Court ruled that Indian films and television serials were included in 'Negative List' under the current bilateral trade regime. Reacting over this Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari on Thursday said that films and serials are ideas and the power of idea cannot be stopped. He also said that Pakistan government must remove Indian films and serials from negative list of bilateral trade and put it in the positive list.

Congress creating hurdles in functioning of Parliament: BJP

New Delhi, Dec 12 (ANI): BJP Spokesperson, Prakash Javadekar on Thursday said that his party is not creating hurdles in the functioning of Parliament and the Congress MPs and its allies are creating hurdles as the Parliament was disrupted for the fifth straight day on Wednesday. He further said that BJP wants the House to function.

Close shave for Rahul Gandhi at IGI airport

New Delhi, Dec 12 (ANI): Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi had a narrow escape at Indira Gandhi International airport while returning from Rae Bareli in his private jet. Another aircraft was still on the runway on which his private business jet was to land. However, luckily just when Rahul's Cessna Citation was about to land, the airport traffic control alerted Rahul's pilot to abort the landing. Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has now ordered a probe into the incident. According to sources it was a very close shave.

Top Pakistani Islamic cleric calls for strong Indo-Pak relations

Ludhiana, Dec 12 (ANI): Top Pakistani Islamic cleric and a key figure in a pro-Taliban alliance in Pakistan's Parliament, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, on his visit to Punjab, called upon the need to foster strong relations between New Delhi and Islamabad. He said both the nations have to improve the relations through dialogue and not by picking up arms. Commenting on the Kashmir row between India and Pakistan, Rehman said both the countries have agreed to resolve the matter through dialogue and they should move forward on that path.

Arvind Kejriwal not to visit Ralegan Siddhi due to fever

New Delhi, Dec 12 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal will not be able to visit Ralegan Siddhi in Maharashtra and meet anti graft crusader Anna Hazare, whose indefinite hunger strike to press for the Lokpal bill entered the third day on Thursday. Talking to mediapersons in New Delhi Party leader Kumar Vishwas said that Kejriwal won't be able to accompany him to Ralegan Siddhi. AAP members - Sanjay Singh and Gopal Rai - will now go along Kumar Vishwas.
