Reactions flow on reports of Congress-NCP sharing seat in Maharashtra

New Delhi, July 24 (ANI): Political leaders on Thursday reacted over reports of Congress and NCP sharing seat in Maharashtra during upcoming polls. NCP leader Tariq Anwar stated that Congress and NCP are an integral part of UPA and they will mutually decide how to plan candidates in Maharashtra. Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge said that NCP Chief Sharad Pawar is a wise man and he will take a proper decision along with Congress President Sonia Gandhi which will strengthen the two party's relations. Queen Elizabeth II declares 2014 Commonwealth Games open in Glasgow

Glasgow, July 24 (ANI): The colourful event of Commonwealth Games 2014 kicked off in Glasgow after some enthralling dance and singing performances at the Celtic Park and a minute's silence for the victims of the Malaysian Airlines crash. Queen Elizabeth II travelled by train to Glasgow and declared the games open at the end of the evening's ceremony. Around 6,000 athletes gathered for the opening of the Commonwealth Games. The Games, open to athletes from the 53 Commonwealth of Nations, feature 22 sports. The protesters were, however, detained by the Delhi police. Shiv Sena MPs allegedly forced a Muslim catering supervisor to break his Ramzan fast at Maharashtra Sadan in New Delhi last week. At least 12 children, driver killed as school bus collides with train in Telangana

New Delhi, July 24 (ANI): At least 12 children are feared dead after a train crashed into their school bus at an unmanned railway crossing in Medak district of Telangana on Thursday. The bus driver was also killed. The bus was carrying around 40 children of the Kakatiya School. Witnesses say the bus was dragged for some distance. TRS has called the incident very unfortunate. Police kill Maoist in encounter; recover arms in Jharkhand

Khunti, July 24 (ANI): Police killed one Maoist in an encounter and also recovered a huge cache of arms in red corridor of Khunti district in Jharkhand. On a tip off, police launched a joint operation along with paramilitary, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in an area where 20 to 25 rebels were estimated to be hiding. During the search operations, Maoists started firing at the police and during the encounter one Maoist was shot dead. Amsterdam, July 24 (ANI): A day of national mourning took place in the Netherlands, as the first bodies of the crashed Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 victims arrived back in the country. As the remains were taken for identification at a military base, memorials and a moment of silence were held to remember those who were killed. When the first bodies arrived, thousands gathered to walk in silence. Through the center of Amsterdam, an entire country displayed its resilience.
