New Delhi, July 24 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday met a delegation from the Aga Khan Foundation which briefed him on various activities it was undertaking in the country. The PMO tweeted saying that, “The delegation members briefed the prime minister on various development activities being undertaken by the foundation in India.” AKF vice chairman Gulam Rahimtoola led the five-member delegation. The foundation was established by the spiritual leader of the Ismaili community in 1967 and its mission is to develop and promote creative solutions to problems that impede social development, primarily in Asia and east Africa.

Manipur, July 24 (ANI): These 20 artisans from Manipur have come to Power Loom and Allied Service Centre at Takyel Industrial Estate in Imphal to receive skill development training. The centre opened under the Directorate of Commerce and industries with an aim to equip the rural artisans with modern technology. It expects to enhance the productivity with the use of technology. The center also plans to provide loom sets, incentives and marketing assistance to those who accomplish the training. New Delhi, July 24 (ANI): An advocate of Supreme Court on Thursday said that the Shiv Sena leader, who force-fed a fasting Muslim, is liable to face legal action under Indian Penal Code (IPC) for hurting religious sentiments. Shiv Sena leader Rajan Vichare was caught on a video trying to force-feed a Muslim caterer, Arshad Zubair, when the food served in Maharashtra Sadan was not up to his standards. Lucy Lawless to star in 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D'

Decline in insurgency brings development in rural Tripura

Tripura, July 24 (ANI): Situated close to Bangladesh border, Bhagaban Chowdhury Para in West Tripura district was affected by militancy and was least developed with no `pucca’ roads, drinking water, education or electricity. With the decline in insurgency, the things are no longer the same. The road infrastructure in the village has improved with the implementation of various government-run schemes like MGNREGA and Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. Many of the tribal people who were earlier into Jhum cultivation have become settled farmers under the Tribal Jhumia Rehabilitation Scheme and Integrated Tribal Development Project.
