New Delhi, July 24 (ANI): Addressing the National Seminar for Rural Finance, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said on Thursday that rural development is the most challenging field of economic activity. Jaitley also used the occasion for congratulating the National Bank for Agricultural & Rural development (NABARD) for having completed 32 years of fruitful and productive existence. Jaitley stressed upon the problems before rural development, adding that a majority of India’s population lives in rural areas and depend on farming for subsistence. The finance minister also brought up the issue of quality of life in rural areas of India saying that there are miles to go before achieving satisfaction.
