New Delhi, Nov 24 (ANI): Political leaders expressed concern after China announced that it has completed a major hydropower dam on the Brahmaputra, called Yarlung Zangbo, in Tibet, even as Minister of state for home affairs, Kiren Rijiju said that the matter is under knowledge of government. The dam is bound to enhance fears in India and Bangladesh about flash floods and related risks like landslides involving lives of millions of people downstream. India has repeatedly expressed concern about the dangers of damming the Brahmaputra. NCP, BJD and CPI all voiced their concerns on the matter and said that it should be taken up with the Chinese government and a solution should be planned out on the same. Nov 24, 2014

Jalpaiguri, Nov 24 (ANI): Protesters turned violent at Indo-Bhutan border check post on Sunday over the unnatural death of an Indian girl in neighbouring Bhutan. Violence erupted when Bhutan police surrendered the girl's dead body to the family members without explaining the cause of death.
