India, Bangladesh border talks kick off in Tripura

Agartala, Feb 04 (ANI): India, Bangladesh joint district-level border conference to resolve trans-border issues kicked off in Tripura. A wide range of issues like smuggling, trans-border crime, insurgent movement, narcotics, human trafficking was discussed between officials of both the countries. Both the sides expressed satisfaction and said dialogue not only helps in mutually sorting disputes at grass-root level but also helps in confidence building between the nations. Officials of both sides maintained that frequent dialogue should take place at regular intervals as it helps in better coordination and improving ties. Issues related to four districts of Bangladesh and Tripura would be tabled on last day of two-day talks. Similar conferences would also be held in Assam and Meghalaya to sort out border issues. Fuel prices reduced ahead of polls in Delhi

New Delhi/ Bengaluru/ Mumbai, Feb 04 (ANI): Fuel prices have been reduced by Rs 2.42 for Petrol and Rs 2.25 for Diesel with effect from the midnight of February 3rd and 4th. Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) said it would cut the retail price of diesel by about 4.7 percent and that of gasoline by 4.1 percent from Wednesday (February 04), as global prices have eased since the last revision. AAP leader Ashish Khetan said that slashing of fuel prices was a stunt by the Central government keeping February 07 Delhi polls in mind. Delhi Police summon AAP leader over seized liquor bottles

New Delhi, Feb 04 (ANI): Election Commission (EC) officials seized 397 cartons of liquor from a warehouse in west Delhi, days before the national capital goes to polls on February 07. Acting on a tip off, a team of EC officials raided the warehouse near residence of AAP leader Naresh Balyan in Uttam Nagar area and seized liquor. Police indicated towards possibility of Balyan's involvement. Balyan is AAP's candidate from Uttam Nagar. Meanwhile, BJP Spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi, said that people should understand AAP's game plan. Voting in Delhi will take place on February 7 and the results will be announced on February 10. President Pranab Mukherjee in his message to Sri Lankan counterpart Maithripala Sirisena said India and Sri Lanka are close neighbours with a long standing relationship of friendship and cooperation based on shared linguistic, religious and cultural traditions. He also said that these ties have matured over time to embrace all areas of contemporary significance. Artists celebrate Amitabh Bachchan's film characters on canvas

Vadodara, Feb 04 (ANI): Artists in Gujarat painted portraits of Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, depicting the array of characters played by him in his films so far. The event was organized ahead of the release of his upcoming Bollywood film 'Shamitabh'. On Friday (February 06), when the movie releases, an exhibition will be held at a mall in Vadodara city, showcasing these paintings for the movie buffs coming to watch 'Shamitabh'. Around 20 artists gathered to paint Bachchan's characters from various films. The event encouraged local talent while giving them a chance to paint the legend of Bollywood. The event organiser, Giri Sharma, said such events provide great opportunity to the artists. Artists sketched portraits of their favourite star from films like 'Anand'and 'Sarkar' with much delight.
