Pakistani cricket fans watch first World Cup match against India in Karachi

Karachi, Feb 15 (ANI): Cricket fans in Pakistan gathered to watch their team face reigning champions India in the World Cup on Sunday. The fierce rivals are playing the match at Australia's Adelaide Oval as both sides got their World Cup campaign underway. In Karachi, a big screen had been set up at the PIA Planetarium for fans to watch the game. The match is of huge emotional importance to Pakistanis, who have never witnessed a World Cup victory over India in five previous attempts -- and India's media have not wasted the chance to rub it in. A fan who had arrived to watch the match was keen to see his team beat India. In Lahore, fans also gathered to watch the match on big screens. Maldives Foreign Minister Dunya Maumoon meets Indian counterpart to boost ties

New Delhi, Feb 15 (ANI): Maldives Foreign Minister Dunya Maumoon met her Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj in New Delhi on Sunday to boost ties. Pak HC declares Pervez Musharraf ineligible for Parliament membership

New Delhi, Feb 15 (ANI): The Sindh High Court (SHC) has reportedly declared former President General (retired) Pervez Musharraf "ineligible" for Parliament membership, saying that he did not fulfill the criteria set in Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution. A three-judge bench of the SHC, headed by Chief Justice Maqbool Baqir, asserted that the military ruler misused his powers and abrogated the Constitution and the decisions taken by him have hurt Pakistan's image. The detail verdict has been released by the court. Following a four-year-long self-imposed exile, Musharraf came back to Pakistan in March 2013 to contest the May 11 general election. However, elections officials barred him from running for the National Assembly, thwarting his plans to contest the general election.

Paramilitary force organises camp in Maoist-hit areas of Jharkhand

Latehar, Feb 15 (ANI): Paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) organised a health camp in Maoist-affected villages of Jharkhand. CRPF personnel, as a part of civic action programme, distributed free medicines and utensils to the poor in 200 Maoist-hit villages in Latehar district. According to villagers, they are constantly under Maoists attack threat but are relieved after a police station was built in Herhanj area. Strawberry farming proves to be a big hit in West Bengal

Siliguri, Feb 15 (ANI): Farmers in West Bengal were yielding profits from strawberry cultivation. Strawberry farming has become a hit among villagers of Patiramjote area in Siliguri district. Many young farmers are taking it up due to less investments and maximum results. A farmer Rajib Das said he plucks around five kilograms of strawberries every day. He added that demand rose within short span of time, which also resulted in good money. A strawberry expert was invited to West Bengal to see if strawberry farming was possible in the state. The expert pointed out four districts where strawberries could be grown and state's biotechnology department started working on it. The biotechnology department is also giving training to farmers so that they can easily grow strawberries. Meetings have been organised with the farmers and other people to give information on the crop.
