PM does not want to empower people, says Rahul Gandhi

Amethi, Dec 4 (ANI): Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi on Thursday during his visit to Amethi district of Uttar Pradesh slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not giving power in the hands of people. Gandhi was speaking at an event organised in his constituency to commemorate the 10th foundation day of Indira Gandhi Eye Hospital, built and run by Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust. Gandhi said he does not agree with Modi_s thinking of concentrating power in the leader_s hand and instead believes in empowering people. Gandhi further said the Indira Gandhi Eye Hospital offered world class services at a fraction of the cost. He added the hospital had so far treated 200,000 people. Dec 4, 2014

IRC hosts _Quran and Modern Science_ Expo

Aurangabad, Dec 4 (ANI): A three-day exhibition _The Quran and Modern Science_ is being hosted by the Islamic Research Centre (IRC) in Maharashtra. The exhibition aims at making the youth aware of scientific facts stated in the holy book of Quran. President of IRC Advocate Faiz Syed said the motive is to clear the misconceptions of non Muslims regarding the Muslim community. Several illustrated posters quoted verses from the Quran and linked them with discoveries in modern science. A student, Alfia, said the exhibition made them aware how science and Quran are related. BJP chief alleges Congress has looted Jharkhand

Ranchi, Dec 4 (ANI): BJP Chief Amit Shah alleged that the opposition, Congress party has looted Jharkhand and never allowed a stable government in the state. Shah was addressing a rally in Bermo town in the Bokaro district of the state on Thursday. The first phase of polling was held on Tuesday (November 25). The five-phased polls in the state will end on December 20 and counting of votes will take place on December 23.
