Police exhume body of missing Australian woman in Andhra Pradesh

Puttaparthi, Nov 09 (ANI): Police exhumed body of Toni Annie Ludgate, a 75-year-old Australian national, from a spot on the outskirts of pilgrim town Puttaparthi in Andhra Pradesh, who went missing over two months ago. Reportedly, Ludgate was murdered by the security guard of her apartment complex with the help of two accomplices on August 28 as the guard was unable to return Rs 20,000 he owed her. Ludgate's family took up her disappearance with the Indian government through the Australian Embassy in New Delhi. Initially, police took complaint lightly till the Embassy intervened and took the matter up with the Indian government. Nov 9, 2014

Poonch, Nov 09 (ANI): Authorities beefed up security as the election cell in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir prepares for assembly polls. The assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir will be held in five-phases, beginning on November 25 and ending on December 20. The counting of votes will take place on December 23. As a part of back-up, extra forces have arrived in Poonch on Sunday (November 09), in wake of the cross border firing to ensure safety and fair elections to be held on 2nd December. Uri, Nov 09 (ANI): A 22 year girl and a soldier were killed in Uri sector of Kashmir as Pakistan rangers and Indian army exchanged fire in a fresh ceasefire violation. Village head Syed Mir Hussain said that the girl has been identified as Gulshan Bano, who died in the hospital after sustaining serious injury in the firing. India has, for years, accused Pakistan of backing separatist Muslim rebels in India's part of Kashmir. Vadodara, Nov 09 (ANI): National song Vande Mataram got a new version in Gujarati language and was made available online by a motley group comprising a lecturer, senate member, alumni and an artist associated with a university in Gujarat. The group linked to Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU) in Vadodara uploaded the new version on YouTube for free download.
