Politicians condemn baton charge on women protesters in Firozabad

New Delhi/ Firozabad, Jan 14 (ANI): Politicians on Tuesday condemned the baton charge by police on women protesting against an accident which took place in Uttar Pradesh. The incident has sparked a sharp criticism against UP government and the state police who were seen ruthlessly beating women protesters on Monday in Firozabad district. Reportedly, women were protesting against an accident at NH-2 (National Highway-2) when police baton-charged them to clear the highway. The cops were seen beating the women with sticks, slapping and even kicking them. Meanwhile, a BJP leader, Sidharth Nath Singh, said it was a shameful act and the police behaved like hooligans. BSE closes points 101.33 down on Jan 14

New Delhi, Jan 14 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 101.33 points down to stand at 21,032.88. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 30.90 points down to stand at 6,241.85. Cummins India and CESC were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 4.03% and 3.66% along with Adani Enterprises Ltd. and Mcleod Russel with an increase of 3.48% and 3.01% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include Dish TV India and Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. with a decrease of 4.72% and 3.81% along with MCX and Mphasis with a decrease of 3.45% and 3.03% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is down 40.06 points at 11,997.16 while the banking sector is down 82.78 points at 12,520.32 and the realty sector is down 17.84 points at 1,339.61. No evidence was tampered with: Kejriwal on Somnath Bharti

New Delhi, Jan 14 (ANI): The Patiala House Court in 2013 had indicted Lawyer and AAP leader, Somnath Bharti for tampering with evidence along with his client Pawan Kumar in a corruption case. Speaking on the same, Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said that they are ready to share the evidence which was found during their sting operation against the bank, and also added that no evidence was tampered with.
