New Delhi/ Firozabad, Jan 14 (ANI): Politicians on Tuesday condemned the baton charge by police on women protesting against an accident which took place in Uttar Pradesh. The incident has sparked a sharp criticism against UP government and the state police who were seen ruthlessly beating women protesters on Monday in Firozabad district. Reportedly, women were protesting against an accident at NH-2 (National Highway-2) when police baton-charged them to clear the highway. The cops were seen beating the women with sticks, slapping and even kicking them. Meanwhile, a BJP leader, Sidharth Nath Singh, said it was a shameful act and the police behaved like hooligans.
