Amy Adams gives up first class ticket to US soldier

New Delhi, June 28 (ANI): Amy Adams recently gave her first class plane seat to a US soldier after she saw the serviceman in uniform at the gate and chatted to him near the cockpit. She asked a flight attendant if she could swap places and hurried back to his seat, a leading daily reported. Jemele Hill, ESPN TV host, who was also on board, said that when they were waiting to board, she saw Adams glance the soldier's way and then actress said something to the person she was travelling with. She added that it was just thoughtful and classy.

3 storey building collapses in New Delhi, several feared trapped

Syrian envoy to India confirms airstrikes in border areas with Iraq

New Delhi, June 28 (ANI): Syrian ambassador to India, Riyadh Abbas confirmed that Syria's warplanes conducted airstrikes in the border areas with Iraq which the ISIS controls. Abbas said it was their right to protect their sovereignty and defend its people from any impending threats from militants. Militants from the ISIL, along with other rebels, have abducted dozens of foreigners, including Indian nationals, as they swept through towns in the Tigris valley north of Baghdad in recent days.

Rural areas in Tripura reap peace dividend

Tripura, June 28 (ANI): Situated under the foothills of Baramura hills, Anandanagar village is mostly inhabited by tribals. Once a hotbed for militants, the village was least developed with no _pucca_ roads, education and health facilities. The things are no longer the same. With a decline in militant activities in recent years, the village has seen rapid development. The road infrastructure has also improved with the implementation of various government-run schemes.
