Hyderabad, June 29 (ANI): World's second largest high-altitude telescope for detecting gamma ray emissions is ready to be transported from Hyderabad to Ladakh, where it will become operational by early 2016. Weighing 180 tonnes and mounted on six wheels, the Major Atmospheric Cherenkov Experiment (MACE) telescope has been developed and manufactured for the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) in Mumbai by the Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) in Hyderabad. Imphal, June 29 (ANI): To give a boost to quality silk production, a 5-day long Beneficiary Empowerment Training Programme was recently organized by the Research Extension Centre of Central Silk Board at Khuman Lampak in Imphal. The participants were given theoretical training followed by field exposure visits to Changangei and Mantripukhr. Under the programme, eight batches, comprising of 20 participants each will be given training in Ukhrul and Churachandpur districts this year. The organizers aim to enhance the production from 1.5 metric tons to 14 metric tons in silk producing Ukhrul and Churachandpur district of Manipur.
