Singapore President meets Sushma Swaraj in New Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 09 (ANI): Singapore President Tony Tan Keng Yam met Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj in New Delhi on Monday. Yam arrived in national capital on Sunday on a four-day visit to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. President Yam, who is accompanied by his wife Mary Tan, will also inaugurate an exhibition, "The Peranakan World: Cross-Cultural Art from Singapore and the Malacca Straits" at the national museum in New Delhi. As per media reports, Yam will also launch the Singapore-India Commemorative Book published by the Institute of South Asian Studies. Meanwhile, Yam and his wife also laid floral wreath at memorial of iconic freedom fighter, Mahatma Gandhi, at Rajghat. Feb 9, 2015

New Delhi/ Chennai, Feb 09 (ANI): A 22-year old law student was allegedly raped by her landlord for refusing to have a baby with him and beaten up in Meerut. Condemning reactions from social activists and political leaders flowed on Monday over the incident. Social activists Annie Raja, Sudha Ramalingam and Abha Singh condemned the law and order for such crimes which are taking place on daily basis in the country. New Delhi, Feb 09 (ANI): With the exit polls for the Delhi legislative assembly elections painting a grim picture for the Congress, the party's chief ministerial candidate Ajay Maken on Monday stated that he was ready to take full responsibility if the predictions of a massive loss for the grand old party were to come true. Maken further said that the exit polls seemed to indicate that the people of the national capital wanted to give another chance to Arvind Kejriwal, around a year after the Aam Aadmi chief stepped down after serving as the Delhi chief minister for 49 days. The exit polls have predicted the second place for the Bharatiya Janata Party while the Congress has been placed at a distant third.
