North Korea threat: South Koreas approach differs from US and Japan

Defence Minister Itsunori Onodera said Japans military could deter a missile attack on US territory by North Korea. Should North Korea attack Guam, Onodera said the missiles could be shot down by the Japanese military before reaching the U.S according to Onodera. Meanwhile, South Korea has had a nuclear deterrence since the Korean War when the U.S. vowed to protect the country from its northern neighbor. Pyongyangs recent long-range missile tests havent startled the average South Korean citizen, according to CNN. FBI agents raided home of former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort

Federal agents used a search warrant to obtain documents from the Alexandria, Virginia home of former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort on 26 July according to a Washington Post report on 9 August. Manafort had voluntarily overturned documents to congressional committees investigating the ongoing Russian collusion probe,following the bombshell report that he had attended the controversial Trump Tower meeting with Trump Jr. and Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya in June 2016. Based on the search warrant, investigators may have disputed Manaforts trustworthiness in presenting all records required by the grand jury subpoena.
