Nitish Kumar backs BJP's demand for Bharat Ratna to AB Vajpayee

Patna, Nov 18 (ANI): Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday backed the BJP's demand for the highest civilian award, Bharat Ratna to their senior leader and former Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Backing BJP's demand, Kumar while addressing a news conference in Patna said that Vajpayee deserves the award. Ink-throwing protester disrupts Kejriwal's press conference

New Delhi, Nov 18 (ANI): A man, claiming to be a BJP worker, created a ruckus at a press conference on Monday when AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal was addressing the issue of party funding. The protestor threw black ink at Kejriwal while he was addressing the press conference. The man, who identified himself as Nachiketa Mavlekar said that he has not been sent by any party.

Centre would provide adequate safeguards to Seemandhra people: Jaipal Reddy after GoM meet

New Delhi, Nov 18 (ANI): After three union ministers from Telangana, S Jaipal Reddy, Porika Balram Naik and Sarve Satyanarayana met the Group of Ministers (GoM) on Monday, they urged the central government to go ahead with the creation of Telangana and make Hyderabad its unconditional capital. Jaipal Reddy said that the ministers want the Government of India not to impose too many limitations on the inherent constitutional rights of the new Telangana state, and that it would provide adequate safeguards to Seemandhra people.

Freedom fighters condemn violence by BNP-led alliance in Bangladesh

Rangpur, Nov 18: A peace rally organized by “Anwesha Shanskriti Songothan”, a social organization, was attended by over five thousand freedom fighters and scholars from eight district of Rangpur division. Saddened by frequent strikes and violence by Bangladesh Nationalist Party-led alliance, the freedom fighters called for peaceful elections ahead. They also called for a ban on radical outfits like the Jamaat-e-Islami, which was against the creation of the country and still continues with its violent ways. Bangladesh, then known as East Pakistan, broke away from West Pakistan after a bloody war in 1971.
