The Congress, however, has maintained that the step was taken as she wanted to work for the party. In a shake up ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Jayanthi Natarajan resigned on Saturday as the Minister of State for Environment and Forest for 'party work'.

'The Bastard Child' is a film on East Pakistan's struggle for freedom: Director

New Delhi, Dec 22 (ANI): The Bangladesh Liberation War or East Pakistan’s struggle for freedom broke out in 1971, when the Pakistani Army launched a military operation called Operation Searchlight against the Bengali civilians. Mrityunjay Devvrat, writer and director of the film 'The Bastard Child' was pulled into the subject because of the intense stories it brought from the past and the secrecy maintained on the subject till the present time. The film features Farooq Sheikh, Pavan Malhotra, Raima Sen and Victor Banerjee. Talking about his experience and difficulties while directing the film with reputed actors of Bollywood, Devvrat said that sharing the vision and discussions on the topic really helped.

Bangladesh activists condemn Pakistans stand on Abdul Quader Molla

Dhaka, Dec 22 (ANI): Hundreds of students, teachers, political and social activists in Bangladesh took to streets to protest against Pakistan’s reaction on the hanging of 1971 war criminal Abdul Quader Molla. Jamaat leader Abdul Quader Molla was hanged on December 12, the first war crimes execution in Bangladesh. He was accused of collaborating with Pakistani forces during 1971 Liberation War, who were eventually defeated with India's help.

Narendra Modi's wax statue unveiled in Mumbai
