Don't appreciate use of such language: Rahul on Khurshid's 'impotent' Modi remark

New Delhi, Feb 27 (ANI): Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said that he did not endorse or appreciate External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid’s description of BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi as "impotent" in whatever context. Khurshid had on Wednesday defended his remarks, insisting that he meant Modi's "administrative incompetence" in the handling of the 2002 Gujarat riots, and also said he did not think he would be censured for his choice of words.

JD (U) expels Shivanand Tiwari, four rebel LS MPs

Trend of running nation from Delhi must stop: Narendra Modi

New Delhi, Feb 27 (ANI): BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi while addressing the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) national convention at Siri Fort auditorium in New Delhi on Thursday said that the trend of running the nation from Delhi must stop. New Delhi, Feb 27 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Thursday stayed the release of four convicts in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case. The court court issued a notice to Tamil Nadu government and the four prisoners on the Centre's plea against their release. Earlier, an apex court bench headed by Justice P Sathasivam directed that the central government's plea would be heard on March 6. The Centre on Monday had moved the apex court to prevent the state government to set free four other convicts serving life imprisonment in the case.

Nitish behind RJD split: Shivanand Tiwari

Patna, Feb 27 (ANI): JD (U) leader Shivanand Tiwari on Thursday confirmed that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was behind the split in the RJD. The development came in view of 13 RJD MLAs purportedly splitting from the party. Nine had later come back in the RJD fold. RJD chief Lalu Prasad had earlier said that Nitish Kumar had conspired to split his party to save his government, which is in a minority. Kashmir: Soldier shoots dead 5 colleagues, kills self

Ganderbal, Feb 27 (ANI): An army jawan of 13 Rashtriya Rifles shot dead five of his colleagues at point blank range when they were sleeping and killed himself in Kashmir's Ganderbal district Thursday morning, said army official. The deaths of the jawans took place inside the army camp of 13 Rashtriya Rifles at Safapora. An army court of inquiry will investigate the deaths. According to sources, the soldier, who was posted on sentry duty at the camp, entered one of the barracks at around 2:00am and opened indiscriminate firing on his sleeping colleagues.

Navy chief resigns after INS Sindhuratna mishap, politicos welcome move

New Delhi, Feb 27 (ANI): Political leaders welcomed Navy Chief Admiral DK Joshi’s decision to resign from the post following the INS Sindhuratna mishap. Congress leader DP Tripathi said that the naval chief took moral responsibility and resigned, while JD (U) leader Ali Anwar welcomed the move saying very few officials do such a thing. Meanwhile, BJP leader Prakash Javadekar pointed out the shortcomings of the Defence ministry and said that they should take responsibility of the series of mishaps in the Indian Navy.
