Militant attack injures one policeman in J&K's Anantnag

Anantnag, April 08 (ANI): A policeman was injured in Anantnag town of Jammu and Kashmir after militants opened fire on Tuesday. After the attack, the militants ran away with his rifle. The injured was later shifted to a nearby hospital. An alert has been sounded in the area to track down the assailants. The restive region has witnessed numerous militant attacks, insurgency, and infiltration attempts from across the border in the last two decades.

Kejriwal slapped again during his roadshow in Delhi

New Delhi, April 08 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal was on Tuesday slapped during a road show in Sultanpuri area of Northwest Delhi. The attacker, identified as Laali, was later thrashed by the AAP supporters and has been admitted in a hospital. He has accused Kejriwal of the betraying auto-drivers. Kejriwal later tweeted: "I am just thinking - why am I being repeatedly attacked? Who r the masterminds? What do they want? What do they achieve?" "Is violence an answer to country's problems? Let them tell me place n time. I will come there. Let them beat me as much as they want...but will that solve problems," he further tweeted.

Shashi Tharoor slams allegations of bribing pastors for votes

Thiruvananthapuram, April 8 (ANI): Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, refuted allegations of meeting pastors and bribing them to garner Christian votes, levelled by BJP and LDF. The BJP and Left Democratic Front (LDF) alleged that Tharoor had violated the model code of conduct. Reportedly, the BJP filed a complaint with Election Commission in Kerala based on recordings aired on regional television channel, which showed Tharoor speaking to missionary pastors during campaigning and offering money in lieu of votes. However, Tharoor called the complaint baseless and considered it an act of revenge. Meanwhile, the LDF has accused the Congress party leader of meeting pastors of a particular Christian denomination at his home. Tharoor is making his second consecutive attempt to the Lok and is contesting elections from Thiruvananthapuram.

People run to encourage voting in Maoist-hit Gaya

Politicians condemn confrontation between EC and Mamata Banerjee

West Bengal/ New Delhi, April 9 (ANI): Politicians on Tuesday condemned the uproar between West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the Election Commission. According to reports, Banerjee challenged the Election Commission's order of transferring five superintendents on charges of being biased towards some political parties during a rally on Monday in Pandua town of West Bengal. Another attack on Kejriwal, BJP says AAPs false promises may be the reason

New Delhi, April 08 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal has been attacked again. An unidentified man on Tuesday slapped Kejriwal. The incident took place while he was campaigning in Sultanpuri. The attacker is yet to be identified, but he was dressed like an autorickshaw driver. He attacked Kejriwal while he was travelling in an open jeep. Reacting over the incident, BJP leader Vijay Goel said that the attacker may possibly be a disgruntled AAP worker, who was fed up the Arvind Kejriwal’s false promises.
