CBI arrests IT officer and husband for accepting Rs 10 lakh bribe

Bhopal, March 29 (ANI): Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested an a deputy commissioner of income tax department and her husband for accepting bribe of Rs 10 lakh from a builder to settle his tax penalty case in Bhopal. The arrested officer has been identified as Poonam Roy, who is a 2007 batch IAS (Indian Administrative Service) officer. She was held along with her husband Ganesh Malviya who acted as a mediator. Reportedly, the builder filed a complaint with the CBI about money being demanded to settle the penalty and he had claimed that he had been paying his tax regularly.
