JD (U) slams Ramdev for comparing Sonia Gandhi to demons

New Delhi, Mar 30 (ANI): JD (U) leader KC Tyagi on Sunday criticized yoga guru Ramdev, who on Saturday compared Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi to various demons. Ramdev equated Sonia with demoness 'Taadka' and called the Congress leaders as Kans and Ravana. He went on to dub Sonia Gandhi as a "videshi looteri bahu". Governor of Chinas Yunnan state hails economic ties with Kolkata

Kolkata, Mar 30 (ANI): Governor of China’s Yunnan province, Li Jiheng during an exclusive business meet in West Bengal hailed the economic engagement between Kolkata and Yunnan. Maoists threaten people to boycott 2014 polls in Jharkhand

Lohardaga, March 29 (ANI): Maoist extremists threatened the people of Lohardaga district in Jharkhand by distributing pamphlets asking people to boycott the upcoming general elections in the country. The pamphlet also warns of "actions" by Maoists, if people participate in the upcoming general elections. Inspector general of the Ranchi, MS Bhatia, said that the administration is perfectly ready to deal with the threat posed by Maoist during the elections. An expert on Maoist issues, Dheerendra Vidyarthi, is of the view that administration would need to deal with a number of problems to organise successful elections in the isolated regions of Jharkhand. Vidyarthi further added that the central government need a clear strategy and great work to find a solution to the growing problem of Maoists.

IAF plane crash: Deceased Squadron's family lament over authorities apathy

Kanpur, March 29 (ANI): Family of Squadron leader of Indian Air Force (IAF), Ashish Yadav, who was killed in the cargo plane crash, resented no response from the Air Force authorities post incident. C-130J Super Hercules IAF cargo plane crashed on Friday, killing its crew of five, highlighting poor safety standards across the country's armed services. Yadav was a Squadron leader at the Hindon Air Base of Agra. It was the first crash of a Hercules aircraft of the Indian Air Force, which has been plagued for years by the crashes of its Russian-made MiG-21 fighters.

CBI arrests IT officer and husband for accepting Rs 10 lakh bribe

Bhopal, March 29 (ANI): Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested an a deputy commissioner of income tax department and her husband for accepting bribe of Rs 10 lakh from a builder to settle his tax penalty case in Bhopal. The arrested officer has been identified as Poonam Roy, who is a 2007 batch IAS (Indian Administrative Service) officer. She was held along with her husband Ganesh Malviya who acted as a mediator. Reportedly, the builder filed a complaint with the CBI about money being demanded to settle the penalty and he had claimed that he had been paying his tax regularly. CBI then set up a trap and caught the duo red-handed at their residence.
