Anticipatory bail granted to Karthik Gowda in rape and cheat case

Bangalore, Sep 08 (ANI): Railway Minister Sadananda Gowda’s son Karthik Gowda on Monday was granted anticipatory bail in the case of rape and cheating filed by a Kannada actress claiming to be her wife. Karthik Gowda’s lawyer said that the Court had granted anticipatory bail on various grounds produced before the Court by Gowda. He added that the Court’s order will be followed by the accused.

Amit Shah looks forward to formation of BJP Govt in Jharkhand

Ranchi, Sep 08 (ANI): BJP President Amit Shah on Monday said that seeing the kind of support that was visible to him in Jharkhand, the BJP would surely form the state government in the next assembly elections. Addressing a rally in Ranchi, Shah praised the work done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) so far. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP had won 12 of a possible 14 seats in Jharkhand, an encouraging sign for the party ahead of the state assembly elections to be held later this year.

BSE closes points 293.15 up on September 8

New Delhi, Sept 8 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 293.15 points up to stand at 27,319.85. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 87.05 points up to stand at 8,173.90. TORRENT POWER LTD. and MRF were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 14.87% and 8.92% along with APOLLO TYRE and MAX with an increase of 8.32% and 7.10% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include J&KBANK and GLAXOSMITHKLINE CONSUMER HEALTHCARE LTD. with a decrease of 4.42% and 3.08% along with TTKPRESTIGE and SUN TV with a decrease of 2.65% and 2.38% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is up 138.39 points at 17,711.81 while the banking sector is up 252.29 points at 18,550.29 and the reality sector is up 13.60 points at 1,779.01. The Indian currency is down 0.17% at Rs 60.29 per dollar.

A declaration for Independence of Balochistan

Quetta/ Geneva, Sep 08: The largest and resource-rich province of Pakistan, Balochistan, celebrate August 11 as its `Independence Day' and blames Pakistan for its illegal occupation since 1948. Facing poverty, unemployment, illiteracy and inequity, the people in Balochistan feel a deep sense of insecurity and disgruntlement against the Pakistan regime. Human rights violations have reached `epidemic proportions' in the region. On August 11, 2014, Baloch nationalist leaders issued a written declaration demanding Balochistan's independence. SC grants Sahara Chief 15 days extension to finalize deals

New Delhi, Sep 08 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Monday allowed Sahara Chief Subrata Roy to stay in Tihar Conference Room for 15 more working days in order to finalize deals. His lawyer said that an application was submitted by Roy and relevant documents were provided before the Court observing which the Court granted extension. Roy had been allowed to stay in the conference room to enable him arrange Rs 10,000 crore as security to come out on bail. He has been in jail since March 4.

Many villages affected, border outposts safe: Rajnath on JandK floods

New Delhi, Sep 08 (ANI): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday highlighted the situation of flood in Jammu and Kashmir. Singh said that this has been the worst flooding in last 50 years in the state and it has affected many villages in Jammu as well as Kashmir. He added that an inter-ministerial team has been deployed to stay in contact with the Central government. Singh also said that manpower for relief has been increased and border outposts were completely safe from the disaster.

New Delhi, Sep 08 (ANI): Refuting Aam Aadmi Party's claims that he tried to bribe their MLA, Sher Singh Dagar said that BJP can investigate on the matter and that he had not tried to bribe anyone. Dagar said that he is not afraid of being expelled if the party wants and that he has not done anything wrong. The BJP leader said that the AAP MLA came to join the BJP and was asking for party ticket, on which Dagar never gave any assurance of any sort. Over 5000 people rescued from flood-hit areas in Kashmir

Jammu And Kashmir/New Delhi, Sep 08 (ANI): Indian army, air force and personnel of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) rescued more than 5000 people from flood-hit areas in Jammu and Kashmir and set up relief camps on Monday. The death toll from serious flooding in Kashmir climbed to 175 with homes, military bases and hospitals inundated in the region's main city Srinagar as the Jhelum river overflowed its banks. Prime Minister Narendra Modi termed floods a national level disaster and announced 11 billion rupees in disaster relief payments, as well as compensation to victims and their relatives. Singh further said that additional 62 boats were deployed as 108 were already pressed into service in the state. About 22 air force helicopters and four aircraft were deployed to evacuate stranded people and to deliver relief.
