TMC and BJP enter into clash, TMC manhandles BJP candidate Ritesh Tiwari in Kolkata

Kolkata, Sep 11 (ANI): TMC and BJP on Thursday entered into a clash after an altercation broke out between BJP candidate Ritesh Tiwari and the election agents of TMC candidate Nayana Banerjee. BJP Chowrangi bypoll candidate Ritesh Tiwari, was also manhandled while holding a roadshow in the constituency. The incident occurred on the last day of campaigning for the Chowrangi assembly bypoll, which is scheduled for September 13. The BJP leaders claimed that the clash took place at Ganesh Chandra Avenue in central Kolkata in presence of police personnel. As many as 10 BJP supporters were injured in the clash. Sep 11, 2014

New Delhi/ Ahmedabad, Sep 11 (ANI): Political leaders react as Mumbai High Court on Thursday granted bail to former Gujarat Deputy Inspector General of Police DG Vanzara in connection with the 2005 Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case. Vanzara has been in jail since 2007 on charges of having conducted a series of extra-judicial killings while heading the Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS). Congress leader Arjun Modhwadia said that the biggest beneficiary of the encounter was the one who is heading the country and the country's largest party at the moment and that the bail doesn't make much difference. UP court rejects chargesheet filed against Amit Shah

Muzaffarnagar, Sep 11 (ANI): A local court in Muzaffarnagar on Thursday refused to take cognizance of the chargesheet filed against BJP President Amit Shah for the alleged hate speech made by him. While returning the chargesheet to the police to amend the errors, the court said that the police cannot file a chargesheet under IPC Section 188. The court further explained that the complaint should be filed as a private complaint by the concerned officer who had imposed prohibitory orders which were violated. Shah was booked by the UP Police for delivering hate speeches in UP during the election campaigns of the recent Lok Sabha elections. Puri, Sep 11 (ANI): To commemorate the 13th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, renowned sand artist, Sudarshan Pattnaik, sculpted the twin towers of World Trade Centre on the beaches of Puri, with the message 'No Terror, but Peace.' Pattnaik created a five feet high sand replica of the twin towers representing the number eleven, in the middle of the number nine. The sculpture was made using five tonnes of sand and took about seven hours to complete.
