Railway Minister plans connectivity to all north-eastern states

Guwahati, Sep 16 (ANI): Union Railway Minister, Sadananda Gowda, on Tuesday (September 16), expressed satisfaction as he reviewed Northeast Frontier Railway in northeastern Assam state. Gowda held review meetings with the departmental heads and other officials. He said the federal government aimed at completing 34 various ongoing projects of Indian Railways in the northeast over the next six years. Gowda said he has laid special emphasis on cleanliness, catering and safety in his budget. He said he wanted to give importance to the passengers of northeastern states. Gowda said connectivity to states of Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh was already established. Sep 16, 2014

Jammu, Sep 16 (ANI): Kashmir has set up a special relief camp in the winter capital of Jammu for rescuees from flood ravaged valley, besides providing them with food and medical facilities, even as arrangements are being made to send the tourists back to their respective hometowns. The victims were rescued and flown to Jammu from where free bus and train services are being provided to take them back to their respective states. Most of the labourers were without basic needs for nearly 10 days and after being stationed at the relief camp in Jammu city, they were provided with free food and medical checkups.
