Jorhat, Nov 02 (ANI): Kaziranga National Park in Assam, which is home to the largest number of one-horned rhinos has been reopened for the visitors. Forest minister of Assam Rockybul Hussain inaugurated the re-opening by cutting the ribbon amid prayers and rituals. Hussain also flagged off the first batch of elephant safari of 13 elephants for a group of tourists from countries like Australia, United States and United Kingdom. Hussain also urged the people to be more committed for the conservation and protection of the rich bio-diversity of the park and help in maintaining its natural beauty. The Kaziranga National Park is a World Heritage Site, the park hosts two-thirds of the world's great one horned rhinoceroses. Nov 2, 2014

Bus Accident kills at least 14 in Himachal Pradesh

Chamba, Nov 02 (ANI): At least 14 people were killed and 11 others injured after a bus fell into a gorge in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. The private bus carrying 25 people was on its way to Himri in Saluni region when the driver lost control over the wheel and it fell into 100 feet deep gorge. While 12 people died on the spot, two others succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Road and rail accidents are common in India, where rickety infrastructure and weak law enforcement struggle to cope with a surge in traffic and floods of unlicensed drivers. Nov 2, 2014

Congress issues statement over Robert Vadra, says whole episode propagated for political agenda

Indian Army starts construction of bridge damaged due to floods in Kashmir

Poonch, Nov 02 (ANI): The Indian army started construction of a major connecting bridge in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir which was damaged during worst floods in the valley in September. During the floods, several key bridges were damaged and some were washed away leaving hundreds of villages disconnected from several areas. Meanwhile, commanding officer, engineer regiment, Poonch, Major Krishna Prasad said the Sher-e-Kashmir bridge was damaged and work was on to construct a new one. Half marathon in Visakhapatnam celebrates spirit of people

Visakhapatnam, Nov 02 (ANI): Thousands of people converged in port city of Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh on Sunday (November 02) and took part in half marathon organised to salute the spirit of people who showed strength during cyclone Hudhud. Cyclone Hudhud had slammed into the coast of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha last month, killing 41 people and tearing down tens of thousands of mud-and-thatch homes. Meanwhile, the half-marathon, organised by the Indian navy, celebrated the courage of people who rose above the storm and returned to normal lives. Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command, Vice Admiral Satish Soni, said that the half marathon marked the spirit of Visakhapatnam, known to locals as Vizag. The funds generated from the run will be used for rehabilitation work and a part of it will also go to an orphanage. The marathon was categorized under 20 km run, 10 km run and five km walk. Curfew in Kashmir ahead of Muharram processions

Srinagar, Nov 02 (ANI): The state government in Jammu and Kashmir, on Sunday (November 02), imposed curfew in several parts of the region ahead of Muharram processions. Security personnel manned the streets in main city of Srinagar to prevent any mishap. Since 1989, Muharram processions have been banned in Srinagar after a pro-independence revolt started in Kashmir.
