A student of Class X, Nishu has won several district and state level awards for her unique model. She said that the cooler is affordable at rupees 2500 and can be easily availed by poor, especially children, who have to bear the brunt of power outages. Students in Guwahati protest against outsiders writing exams for government jobs

Guwahati, Feb 15 (ANI): Police in Guwahati city detained hundreds of activists on Sunday protesting against students from outside writing exams for recruitment in government jobs. The protest was organised by a powerful students organization, the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU). Police in large numbers stopped the protesters from preventing students from appearing in exams held for the recruitment in railway police. The AASU has for long been demanding justice for the people of Assam and northeast besides demanding quota for jobs. There have been media reports that not even a single person from the northeast was recruited during the drive for filling up posts of 1,000 sub-inspectors and 17,000 constables in earlier exams.
