Red Cross Director-General says killing of staff seems impossible

At least six workers for the International Committee for the Red Cross (ICRC) have been killed by the Islamic State (Isis) in northern Afghanistan on 8 February. Reportedly the Red Cross workers were in a convoy carrying supplies to areas hit by avalanches when they were attacked by the gunmen. A search operation has been launched to find two missing Red Cross that have gone missing since the attack. Feb 8, 2017

Three adorable tiger cubs born at Cincinnati Zoo

Three Malayan tiger cubs were born at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden on February 3, and are now being cared for in the zoo’s nursery. First-time mom Cinta’s maternal instincts did not kick in and vets, concerned that the cubs body temperatures would dip too low without the warmth of moms body, made the call to remove them from the den.
