Mohanlal's action thriller Pulimurugan seems to be unstoppable in making records each and every day at the worldwide box office. The movie, helmed by Vysakh, has already become the biggest grossing Malayalam movie till date.

The Mohanlal-starrer has made a history in Mollywood becoming the first Malayalam movie to enter the prestigious Rs 100 crore club. The action-thriller achieved this rarest feat within a month of its release. The superstar announced the news of the movie grossing more than Rs 100 crore via his Facebook page on Monday, November 8, which has become one of the top trending topics on social media. The movie's director has also thanked the entire cast and crew of Pulimurugan for making it a huge hit and requested the audience to fight against piracy to make the action thriller become the first Malayalam movie to earn Rs 150 crore from the worldwide box office. Many veteran members of the industry have also predicted that the movie to collect more than Rs 100 crore from Kerala alone in the coming days.
Pulimurugan entering the Rs 100 crore club itself makes it the biggest grossing movie in Malayalam. The movie is estimated to have earned more than Rs 65 crore from all over the state within a month of its release. It has also become the fastest movie to cross Rs 10 crore, Es 20 crore, Rs 30 crore, Rs 40 crore, Rs 50 crore and Rs 60 crore mark.
Biggest Malayalam grosser in rest of India
Pulimurugan has been performing well at the box office in other parts of India, and has been ranked on the top spot among the biggest grossing Malayalam movies in rest of India screens. It has to be noted that Nivin Pauly's Premam is still on the top spot at the Chennai box office having being screened for more than 230 days at the Escape Cinemas in Chennai.
Pulimurugan, which was released in the UAE on November 3, has been opened to tremendous response from the audience in the Middle East. The most hyped action-thriller has been screened with housefull shows in almost all the screens, and has been placed on top spot among the list of the biggest grossers the previous weekend. The Mohanlal-starrer has also become all time top South Indian movie in New Zealand and second biggest movie in the US, as of now. It has also surpassed the lifetime collection record of Oppam, Jacobinte Swargarajyam and Premam within three days at the UK box office.
Kerala multiplexes collection
The big-budget movie, bankrolled by Tomichan Mulakupaadam, has become the biggest grossing movie looking at the collection it made from the six multiplexes in Kochi. Pulimurugan, which has become the fastest movie to cross Rs 1 crore, Rs 2 crore and Rs 3 crore at the multiplexes, is said to have minted a gross amount of Rs 3.27 crore within 32 days of its theatrical run in Kochi. Meanwhile, the action thriller has made a business of Rs 1.75 crore from Aries Plex in Trivandrum in 31 days. If the movie continues its good run and earn Rs 1.05 crore more, it will surpass the record of SS Rajamouli's blockbuster movie Baahubali: The Beginning, which has grossed Rs 2.80 crore from the multiplex, a record collection of Prabhas-starrer from a single screen.
