PM dedicates "Indira Paryavaran Bhawan" to nation

New Delhi, Feb 25 (ANI): Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on Tuesday dedicated the "Indira Paryavaran Bhawan" to the nation. The centrally air conditioned office building, which has a provision to accommodate about 600 officials of the Ministry of Environment and Forests, is located on Jorbagh Road and in proximity to other central government ministries and departments. Indira Paryavaran Bhawan is India's first on site Net Zero Building built by adoption of solar passive design and energy efficient building material.

Mass wedding in Allahabad gives one overjoyed day to poor

Allahabad, Feb 25 (ANI): At least 28 couples tied wedding knot in Prerna Parmarth Ashram of Allahabad in a mass wedding ceremony. Overjoyed couples, who were coming from economically and socially weak families, were happy at the series of events. The ‘baraat’ to the ashram was let by different vehicles, elephants and horses and thousands of people gathered to bless the newly-weds. Social Activist Anurag Verma said that the Ashram has already organized marriages for over 1000 couples from all religions and communities till date. Verma said that keeping in view the financial condition of the couples, they are provided with the basic necessities of daily life by the Ashram.

Congress stern over fate of Rajiv Gandhis assassins: Narayanasamy

Chennai, Feb 25 (ANI): Congress leader V Narayanasamy said that the final decision in Rajiv Gandhi’s assassination cace will be taken by the court itself on Tuesday. Narayanasamy said that the many Tamil political parties are seeking political benefit in the Rajiv Gandhi’s case and that the Congress party does not consider it a drawback for the upcoming general elections. He alleged that a similar issue was raised in the 2009 elections but Congress had emerged as a winner then and the party would be a winner this time too. Gaya, Feb 25 (ANI): Maoists victimize family of a dead police informer in “red corridor” region of Gaya in Bihar, demolishing and turning their houses and farmlands into ashes, leaving them in distress with no means of livelihood. Lamenting government's apathy, the family said that the authorities had failed to provide them any compensation or help for their survival. The Maoists had attacked house of Vijay Yadav after brandishing him as a police informer in March 2011. The rebels also looted the house before burning it down.
