Security forces seize cannabis from Indian villages bordering Bangladesh

Tripura, May 22 (ANI): Security forces along with the state administration raided villages in Tripura bordering Bangladesh and seized huge quantity of cannabis on Tuesday. The forces seized 2,000 kilograms of cannabis worth rupees 10 million from around 50 houses in Sonamura town, a sub-division in Sipahijala district. The dried cannabis was hidden in plastic barrels, containers buried in soil. The villages are located near India-Bangladesh international border where these contrabands were cultivated for smuggling into neighbouring country. May 22, 2014

Lucknow, May 22 (ANI): The Samajwadi Party on Thursday dissolved its Uttar Pradesh unit following the party's bad performance in the 2014 polls. Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, however, will remain the party's state chief. The incident came two days after 36 SP leaders having Minister of State (MoS) status in the state government were sacked. Kerala, May 22 (ANI): A risky parasailing stunt forced upon a terrified 11-month-old infant, Niya Nizam, on Wednesday in Kannur district of Kerela landed the girl's parents in legal trouble. The toddler was made to set sail alone clinging desperately to an open parachute by her parents at an adventure sports event organized by an Aerosports Society in Muzhappilangad beach, leaving the onlookers aghast. District Magistrate, P Balakiran said legal action would be taken against those found responsible. The eyewitnesses and the onlookers felt that the parents and the organizers were insensitive to the child's age for sending her parasailing to a height of about 40 feet as the child howled in mortal fear. New Delhi, May 22 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 76.38 points up to stand at 24,374.40. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 23.50 points up to stand at 7,276.40. MCX and Suzlon Energy were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 20.00% and 16.24% along with NHPC and Bajaj Finance Limited with an increase of 12.58% and 12.31% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. and Essar Oil with a decrease of 5.82% and 3.24% along with Motherson Sumi and Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd. with a decrease of 3.02% and 2.92% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is up 12.61 points at 14,334.41 while the banking sector is up 119.89 points at 17,239.64 and the realty sector is up 101.61 points at 1,936.21.
