Judicial Appointments Commission Bill to be introduced in RS

New Delhi, Aug 14 (ANI): The Judicial Appointments Bill which was passed unanimously in Lok Sabha on Wednesday will be introduced in Rajya Sabha on Thursday. On one hand, Political leaders hope that the bill shall be passed in the Upper House too but on the other some think that the bill should have been discussed more. Congress leader Rashid Alvi said that the government should have given more time for discussion over the Bill. NCP leader Tariq Anwar said that he hoped the Bill shall be passed in Rajya Sabha. Jet Airways Bhopal New Delhi flight aborted after engine catches fire

New Delhi, Aug 14 (ANI): A Bhopal bound Jet Airways flight's engine caught fire on Thursday morning while taking off from Delhi. All the passengers were evacuated safely. Three killed in militant attack in Kashmir

Srinagar, Aug 14 (ANI): A police vehicle was ambushed in Galendar area of Pampore in Pulwama district of south Kashmir, which claimed three lives on Wednesday evening. A civilian and two policemen were killed after militants attacked police vehicle at Galendar area on the Srinagar-Jammu highway. Protest intensifies in Assam after killing of two villagers

Assam, Aug 14 (ANI): The Assam-Nagaland border areas remained tense amid killing of two villagers in Uriamghat of Golaghat district of Assam. The two victims were hit by bullets fired by unidentified persons from Nagaland side when they were protesting against the kidnapping of two teenagers by suspected miscreants. Various student organization of Assam took to street and burnt the effigy of Chief Minister of Assam Tarun Gogoi for inaction in the matter. RBI governor emphasizes on financial inclusions to reduce corruption

Mumbai, Aug 14 (ANI): RBI Chief, Raghuram Rajan, vouched for financial inclusion of the poor, in a bid to reduce corruption and boost the developing economy. Speaking at an Independence Day Literature event in Mumbai, Rajan said that India's economy has improved substantially since Independence, but it still lags behind some other countries, such as South Korea, which got their independence even later. He added that direct cash transfers to the poor would help breaking the cycle of dependency.
