Medical camps organized in flood ravaged Kashmir

Rajouri, Sep 11 (ANI): Medical camps were organized to assist flood-affected people as flood water began to recede, giving rescue teams a chance to evacuate thousands of villagers stranded by the heaviest rainfall in 50 years in the heavily militarized and disputed region of Kashmir. The Indian army established medical camps in flood-affected villages to treat injured and sick people and also distributed medicines. Tempers rose on Wednesday with some angry that relief efforts were only reaching them six days after the floods began. Others complained about living conditions in temporary camps. Sep 11, 2014

Rail Minister gives order to help J&K flood victims, ministry to send 50 lakh water bottles daily

New Delhi, Sep 11 (ANI): ADG Public Relations, Indian Railways, Anil Saxena on Thursday said that Railway Minister DV Sadananda Gowda has given orders to the ministry to help Jammu & Kashmir flood victims in all possible way. Saxena also said that Katra-Udhampur rail connectivity, which had been affected by the floods in Jammu and Kashmir, is back to normal. He said that the ministry have established transit pint and nodal at New Delhi railway station. Politicos express concern on Indian youths getting motivated by ISIS

New Delhi, Sept 11 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Thursday expressed grave concern over reports of Indian youths getting inspired by terrorist outfits like the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). BJP leader echoing similar sentiments on the issue said one must wait for the probe by the investigating agencies. Fifteen engineering students were chased down from West Bengal, by the Telangana police after receiving missing complaints from their parents. Swaraj, who is on her maiden visit to Afghanistan, arrived in Kabul on Wednesday and inaugurated the new Indian embassy building. The foreign minister is visiting India's northwestern neighbour in order to enhance bilateral ties and help it deal with key challenges of security and stability. She, along with Afghan President Hamid Karzai attended the largest national flag hoisting ceremony in Kabul. Sushma Swaraj arrives in Tajikistan to attend SCO summit

Tajikistan, Sep 11 (ANI): Foreign minister, Sushma Swaraj, arrived in Dushanbe, the capital city of Tajikistan to attend the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). The summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) aims at boosting cooperation in the three major fields of economy, security and people-to-people exchanges. Tajikistan is hosting the summit of the SCO between September 11 -12 in capital Dushanbe, security being the priority for the 13th annual summit for all member countries. Kerala Liquor Ban: SC asks Govt to maintain status quo till Sept 30

New Delhi, Sep 11 (ANI): Bringing relief to the bar owners, Supreme Court on Thursday directed the Kerala Government to maintain a status quo till 30th of September in the Liquor ban case and prohibited it from shutting down the non-five star hotels. The SC also asked the Kerala High Court to decide expeditiously on the pleas challenging the government's new liquor policy. Petitioner Harish Viren said that they are not against absolute ban of liquor, but the state is doing partiality by banning the four star hotels and not putting ban on the five star hotels and government co-operations.
