New Delhi, Dec 12 (ANI): Hundreds of cab drivers on Friday (December 12) held a protest in New Delhi, demanding the Central government to revoke the ban imposed on a few cab companies, which they said was affecting their business. The Central government has requested that all state governments ban Uber and all other unregistered, web-based taxi companies from operating due to passenger safety concerns after one of the Uber Company's drivers was arrested for allegedly raping a young female passenger. Meerut, Dec 12 (ANI): A police constable who was injured in an attack by a group of inmates of a juvenile justice home succumbed to his injuries on Friday (December 12) in Meerut city of Uttar Pradesh. A group of 16 juvenile justice home inmates attacked the police personnel when they were being brought back to Meerut from Bulandshahr after their court appearance on Thursday. According to police, the juveniles were passing lewd comments on women and when the policemen objected, the boys attacked them. Senior Superintendent of Police, Meerut, Onkar Singh, said the policemen were battered by cricket bats.
