Terror threat to Rajasthan ministers, Security to be tightened

Udaipur, Dec 26 (ANI): A letter of terror threat has been received by Rajasthan government in which threat against ministers of the state has been expressed. Rajasthan Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria said that the threat letter is handed to the state police and necessary safety measures are being taken. Kataria also said that security has been tightened in the wake of threat.

Political parties condemn conversion of Christians to Hinduism on Christmas

New Delhi, Dec 26 (ANI): Political parties on Friday condemned the conversions of at least 58 persons, most of them belonging to Christian families to Hinduism in Kerala. The programme took place under the initiative of Vishwa Hindu Parishad on the Christmas day. Congress leader Rashid Alvi said that it is unfortunate if the VHP is doing this by bribing the people. He also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should take cognizance of the same. RJD Spokesperson Manoj Jha said that the VHP is worling to break the very fabric of the Indian Constitution.

Politicos condemn Assam attacks as death toll rises

New Delhi, Dec 26 (ANI): Political leaders condemned the attacks in Sonitpur and Kokrajhar districts of Assam even as the death toll rises to more than 80 on Friday. Congress leader Rashid Alvi called the incident unfortunate. RJD leader Manoj Jha said that questioned on increase in numbers of such incidents of intolerance. Samajwadi Party leader Naresh Agarwal also condemned the incident and said that the centre should be more alert on such things. JD (U) leader Naresh Agarwal slammed the state government over the same.

Politicos say distribution of compensation cheques to 1984 victims in wake of Delhi polls, BJP refut

New Delhi, Dec 26 (ANI): Political leaders on Friday said that distribution of enhanced compensation cheques by Home Minister Rajnath Singh to the victims of 1984 riots is taking place in the wake of upcoming polls in Delhi. The leaders said that BJP's steps are now being taken in the wake of Delhi assembly elections as the same is very crucial for the party. Meanwhile, BJP leader GVL Narasimha Rao said that this was a poll promise made by the BJP and the distribution is happening to fulfill that promise. Singh will distribute the cheques of enhanced compensation to the next of the kin of the 1984 anti-Sikh riot victims at Tilak Vihar.

Political parties draw speculations on possible alliance in JandK

New Delhi, Dec 26 (ANI): Political leaders on Friday speculate on possible alliance in Jammu and Kashmir and also said that alliance should not be between parties with exactly opposing ideologies. Minister of state for Parliamentary Affairs and BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that the party wants a stable government in the state and are open for alliance with any party. Congress leader Rashid Alvi said that the prime minister who talked about doing away with PDP is talking to the same party only to grap power in the state. RJD Spokesperson Manoj Jha said that JandK should be handled with care and that BJP should avoid politicizing the 'sensitive state'. Samajwadi Party leader Naresh Agarwal is only looking for coming to power.

BJP leader threatens to chop hands of 'TMC goons', Politicos condemn

New Delhi, Dec 26 (ANI): BJP leader Doodh Kumar Mondal courted controversy when he threatened to chop hands of TMC leaders who attack BJP workers in Birbhum. Congress leader Manish Tewari said that BJP should take note of such leaders who keep making hate speeches and provoke communal tension. BJP leader Siddharth Nath Singh said that BJP is not in favour of any hate speech and is ready to take necessary action against those who do so.

Looking into authenticity of 'threat mail', special security arrangements in place: Rajasthan DGP

Jaipur, Dec 26 (ANI): Talking about the e-mail received by 16 ministers of Rajasthan threatening a terror strike, state DGP Upendra Bhardwaj on Friday said that the police is looking into the authenticity of the mail and is trying to find out who sent them. He said that the police is trying to verify whether it is a hoax to create panic in peak tourist season in the state. He also said that special instructions for security have been sent out and there is nothing to worry about.

New Delhi/ Ludhiana, Dec 26 (ANI): Punjab Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia was produced before the Enforcement Directorate on Friday to be questioned. SAD leader Manjit Singh said that Majithia is questioned as a witness not an accused as there is no warrant against him and added that if anything is found against him law will take its course. AAP leader HS Phoolka said that Majithia should be questioned as an accused and nobody should be allowed to accompany him.

Ranchi, Dec 26 (ANI): BJP leader Raghuvar Das was unanimously elected as the leader of legislative party in Jharkhand on Friday during a meeting of BJP leaders. Union Health Minister JP Nadda said that the party has reposed faith in Das and hoped to see Jharkhand at greater heights under Das' leadership.
