It happens : Tribal Fair

Odisha, Jan 30 (ANI): People are thronging the annual tribal fair in Bhubaneswar city of Odisha to get a glimpse of the tribal culture and a taste of the tribal delicacies. The tribal fair was inaugurated on Monday by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. It has been organised by the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Research and Training Institute (SCSTRI) and will go on till February 09. The fair has been divided into various sections like a tribal village, market, food plaza and craft pavilion. Not only the visitors, the tribals participating in the fair are also pleased at this opportunity as they feel it provides them with a bigger market to sell their goods. The organisers expect the footfall at the fair to touch a million and make transactions worth rupees 30 million this year.

Chennai, Jan 30 (ANI): Former Environment Minister and former senior Congress leader Jayanthi Natarajan on Friday announced her resignation from the primary membership of Congress. At a formal press conference in Chennai, Natarajan said that it is not the same Congress that she had joined anymore. She added that she has no issues with State party and that she was sidelined by the National High Command. She further said that Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi had stopped her from issuing environmental clearances to several projects; however, after she resigned Gandhi himself said at a FICCI conference that environmental clearances would be made easy now.

Expert and political leaders react as Pak violates ceasefire yet again along Arnia, RS Pura sectors

New Delhi/ Bhopal, Jan 30 (ANI): Political leaders as well as Defence Expert on Friday react as Pakistan yet again violated ceasefire at Arnia and RS Pura sectors of the international borders. At least 3 civilians were injured in the firing. Congress leaders PC Chacko said that the central government has totally failed in this regard and also said that Pakistan has stopped taking India seriously now. BJP leader GVL Narasimha Rao said that Pakistan is nervous about the progress led by India and that these are the signs of the same. Meanwhile, Defence Expert SR Sinho said that Pakistan is disturbed by the closeness in relations of India with the US and also China's assurance to the nuclear armed nation.

Investigation would be done on Jayanti Natarajan's allegations: Environment Minister

New Delhi, Jan 30 (ANI): Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar on Friday said that the revelations made by Jayanthi Natarajan regarding the Environment Ministry are a matter of grave concern and he would review the specific files mentioned in Jayanthi's letter. In a major embarrassment for the Congress party Jayanthi Natarajan, who was sacked as Environment minister three months ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha polls has apparently blasted the leadership of Rahul Gandhi in a letter sent to party chief Sonia Gandhi. According to reports, the minister is likely to quit the party days ahead of the Delhi Assembly polls. Natarajan alleges the interference by Rahul Gandhi resulted in her being made the scapegoat for the government's failed attempts to revive the inert economy.

Attempts on but no successful infiltration till now, situation little tense but under control: BSF I

New Delhi, Jan 30 (ANI): After yet another ceasefire violation by Pakistan along the international borders, BSF Inspector General Aditya Mishra on Friday said that there have been attempts to infiltrate into Indian territory but none have been successful till time. Mishra said that the situation along the border is little tense but are under control. He also said that few civilians were injured due to shelling yesterday and also said that there can be attempts of ceasefire in future. The BSF IG also said that the Army is retaliating efficiently even as the militants are trying to come to the fence.

New Delhi, Jan 30 (ANI): AAP leaders on Friday slammed the BJP over the later’s controversial ad campaign attacking AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal & showing Anna Hazare dead. BJP had unveiled its new advertisement campaign that targets Kejriwal and shockingly shows Hazare dead with a garlanded photo. Reacting on the same, party leader Yogendra Yadav said that such advertisements show the nervousness and fear of the BJP leaders. Ashutosh also questioned the ruling party on its acts and said that they should apologize in public for showing a living man dead in the ad.

PM Modi, President & Service Chiefs pay tribute at Rajghat

New Delhi, Jan 30 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday paid tribute to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat on his death anniversary. PM Modi was accompanied by Vice President Hamid Ansari and Union Ministers Venkaiah Naidu and Manohar Parrikar at Rajghat. President Pranab Mukherjee also laid floral wreath at the cremation spot of Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat. The day is also observed as Martyrs' Day. The three Service Chiefs, Army Chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag, Navy Chief Admiral RK Dhowan and Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha together paid tribute to Gandhiji. On this day in 1948, Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated at a prayer meeting. An all-religion prayer meeting has been organised at the Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad and Kirti Mandir in Porbandar, the birth place of Mahatma Gandhi.
