Goa police summons Tarun Tejpal by 3 pm tomorrow

Mumbai/Goa /Jammu, Nov 27 (ANI): Goa DIG OP Mishra on Thursday informed that the investigative officer in the sexual assault case has asked Tehelka Editor-in-Chief Tarun Tejpal to appear before the Goa Police by Friday 3 pm. Meanwhile politicos and legal adviser have lashed out at Tarun Tejpal, who is accused of molesting a fellow journalist, for politicizing the entire sex scandal on Wednesday. In a matter of days, Tejpal switched his statements about the scandal. He had earlier apologized for the act and then switched to saying that the accusations were false. He also blamed the BJP for hatching the conspiracy. Deputy Chief Minister of Goa Francis D’Souza ridiculed Tejpal and said that the matter doesn’t have to do with any political party. Legal Adviser Shyam Keswani said that Tejpal is trying to escape the legal consequences by filing his bail petition in Delhi and not in Goa where the assault happened allegedly.

Mediasarkar files criminal defamation case against Kejriwal, colleagues

New Delhi, Nov 27 (ANI): Media portal mediasarkar.com which conducted a sting on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidates on Wednesday filed a criminal defamation case against AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal and four other colleagues. Mediasarkar head Anuranjan Jha named Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Shazia Ilmi, Kumar Vishwas and Yogendra Yadav in the case.

Politicians slam memoirs of former lawmaker Pappu Yadav

New Delhi, Nov 27 (ANI): An autobiography “Drohkaal ka Pathik written by former Bihar MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav has drawn flak from country’s leaders for making sensational claims that three other lawmakers of his party received money to join the then central ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in 2001. Yadav alleged that three leaders of his Indian Federal Democratic Party got money courtesy then finance minister, Yashwant Sinha, to join the BJP-led NDA. According to media reports, Sinha denied the allegations and refused to comment on them. In his book he also alleged that during the July 2008 trust vote, both the Congress and BJP had offered Rs. 40 crore each to lawmakers for their support. Meanwhile, senior JD-U leader K. C. Tyagi, said that to believe a person like Yadav – who has several criminal charges against him – is not advisable.

Sleepless night for doctor couple after sentence of life imprisonment by Court

Ghaziabad, Nov 27 (ANI): Convicted dentist couple, Rajesh and Nupur Talwar spent a sleepless night in prison after a CBI special court sentenced them to life imprisonment on Tuesday for murdering their 14-year-old daughter Aarushi and a servant five years ago, thus concluding a sensational trial on which public opinion remains sharply divided. The CBI had sought death penalty for the couple. Superintendent of Dasna Jail, Vireshraj Sharma said on Wednesday (November 27) that the couple was being given psychological therapy.

BJP hopes to sweep assembly elections in four of five states

New Delhi, Nov 27 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday hoped to sweep state assembly elections and defeat the Congress party in four of five states. The BJP also believes that they will form the central government in 2014 general elections. Voting is already over in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Mizoram. Rajasthan and Delhi will vote on December 01 and December 04, respectively. Muzaffarpur: Portion of rail over bridge falls on goods train, 6 injured

Muzaffarpur, Nov 27 (ANI): At least 6 people were injured when part of a flyover collapsed on a stationary goods train in Muzaffarpur town of Bihar on Wednesday. No casualties have however been reported. The incident happened in Maripur area of the town, 90 km from state capital Patna. The injured have been admitted to nearby Sadar Hospital.
