Politicos on anti communal violence bill

New Delhi, Feb 5 (ANI): Politicos on Wednesday remained divided over the issue of anti communal violence bill. BJP leader Balbir Punj said that the Congress knows it cannot contest the elections therefore it wants to communalize the elections. He further said that the anti communal violence bill is meant to communalize the country and divide its citizens. Meanwhile, JD (U) leader KC Tyagi backed the communal violence bill but added that it should have been introduced long time ago and no matter what UPA does now, it is not going to be saved.

Sushma Swaraj raises Arunachal student Nido Taniam's death case in Lok Sabha

New Delhi, Feb 5 (ANI): Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj on Wednesday demanded justice for Arunachal Pradesh student Nido Taniam, who lost his life after allegedly being beaten up in Delhi last month. Taniam, a student from Arunachal Pradesh, had reportedly gone to Lajpat Nagar on January 29 in search of an address, and was allegedly mocked by someone at a shop for his hairstyle. The parliament witnessed pandemonium over the matter. Earlier also, the parliament session was disrupted due to Telangana issue, leading to adjournment of both Houses.

California, Feb 5 (ANI): Microsoft Corp named 22-year company veteran Satya Nadella as its next chief executive officer and said co-founder Bill Gates would step down as chairman and advise the new CEO on technology, marking an epochal change of control at the company that drove the PC revolution. Nadella, a 46-year old born in India who led the creation of Microsoft's Internet-based, or "cloud" computing services, is only Microsoft's third CEO in 39 years, taking over from Steve Ballmer, who inherited the job from Gates in 2000. Nadella, who describes himself as a cricket and poetry lover, called the appointment "humbling" in an email to the company's employees. Pro and anti-Telangana supporters clash outside Andhra Bhawan in Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 05 (ANI): Scores of pro and anti-Telangana protesters broke into a scuffle outside Andhra Bhawan in New Delhi on Wednesday over the Telangana Bill, which is expected to be tabled in the current session of the Parliament that began today. Supporters from both sides of the divide were holding the protests outside the Andhra Bhawan when the scuffle began. The Centre is determined to introduce the bill in Parliament. After the cabinet's clearance, the bill will be sent to the President and then brought to Parliament for a debate and vote. Political parties demand raise in expense limit for parliament polls

New Delhi, Feb 5 (ANI): Most of India's political parties urged the Election Commission to raise the expenditure limit for the upcoming parliament polls in a meeting with the panel, said senior BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi. The BJP argued that steep inflation had made the current slab of rupees 1.6 million to four million infeasible. However, Delhi's ruling Aam Aadmi Party said it was happy with the current limits. The Election Commission of India had called the meeting to take the opinions of the parties before it comes out with details of the Parliament polls due in April-May.
