AAPs law min accused of tampering evidence; BJP, Congress demand action

New Delhi, Jan 14 (ANI): The Aam Aadmi Party is now tackling allegations that its Law Minister, Somnath Bharti, tried to influence a witness and tamper with evidence in a case he handled last year. Reacting on the issue the BJP said the lawyer-turned-minister must resign immediately or be removed from office by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Tarlochan Singh on operation Blue Star

Congress should show outrage on Natarajan rather than on Narendra Modi: BJP

New Delhi/ Bhopal, Jan 14 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party slammed the ruling Congress party for showing outrage against Narendra Modi's remark and said that anger should have been instead directed against the red-tapism shown by the Ministry of Environment and Forests. JandK: Three terrorists killed in Sopore encounter

Sopore, Jan 14 (ANI): Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir killed three terrorists during an encounter in Sopore district of the province. The police and the Army launched a joint action to search the militants after they got information from intelligence about the militant hideout. The gun battle, which began around 2.00 pm in the Dangerpora area of Sopore district, lasted three hours. The Kashmir region has witnessed numerous militant attacks, insurgency and infiltration attempts from across the border in the last two decades.

Odisha: Fisherman shot dead in security patrol encounter

Odisha, Jan 14 (ANI): A fisherman was shot dead in an exchange of fire with a patrol squad in the prohibited area in Kendrapara district of Odisha, said police. The squad had spotted over 150 fishermen in more than 15 trawlers fishing in the Gahirmatha Marine Sanctuary in sea waters. Fishermen allegedly opened fire at the government officials leading to encounter. The deceased has been identified as SK Akbar (19). Brother of the deceased, Aka Ali Khan, claimed that the fisherman was innocent.
