Police arrest Maoist in Jharkhand, recover arms and ammunition

Palamu, Mar 5 (ANI): Police on Tuesday arrested a Maoist cadre, Sanjay Bhuiya, in Palamu district of Jharkhand. During the arrest, the police officials also recovered arms and ammunition. Ramesh also added that his team was conducting an anti-Maoist operation in Palamu since past three to four days. The Maoists, also known as Naxals, have killed police and politicians, and targeted government buildings and railway tracks in an insurgency that has killed thousands since the 1960s. The Maoists, who say they are fighting for the rights of the poor and landless, control some of India's mineral-rich areas and operate in large swathes of the eastern, central and southern countryside.

Narendra Modi is making false promises to gain vote bank: Mayawati

New Delhi/ Muzaffarpur, Mar 5 (ANI): Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Chief Mayawati criticised BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and said he is fake and has been making false promises. Mayawati said Modi is lying by connecting himself to the backward class, only to lure people from the marginalized section and gain vote bank. She also said that her party would do anything to make sure that BJP and Modi do not come to power in the upcoming parliamentary elections. Stating that her party should not be considered weak with regard to the forthcoming elections, Mayawati said there is a possibility that her party might become the balance of power.
