Political bigwigs reach polling booths to cast their votes

Gujarat/Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh/ Punjab, April 30 (ANI): Indian voters are voting on Wednesday to decide the fate of BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi as well as chief of the ruling coalition Sonia Gandhi, in a crucial stage of the nine-phased general election. Security and election officials were deployed at thousands of polling booths to ensure a smooth day of polling. In the western state of Gujarat, home of BJP's PM candidate Narendra Modi, the BJP is going all out to ensure a comprehensive win for its leader. Meanwhile, another interesting contest is brewing up in Punjab, where Arun Jaitley is fighting against Capt Amrinder Singh.

Narendra Modi flashes BJP's symbol, Congress demands his disqualification

New Delhi, April 30 (ANI): The Congress on Wednesday filed a complaint to the Election Commission demanding disqualification of Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial hopeful Narendra Modi's nomination from both the seats of Varanasi and Vadodara. The Congress alleged violation of Model Code of Conduct by Modi for trying to influence voters on election day by flashing the BJP's symbol - the lotus during press conference after casting his vote.

Ahmedabad, April 30 (ANI): Gujarat Chief Narendra Modi on Wednesday cast his vote in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The BJP's prime ministerial nominee thanked the authorities for conducting a peaceful voting process. LS polls: Voting for all seats of Gujarat today

Gujarat, April 30 (ANI): All 26 seats of Gujarat are observing polls on Wednesday in the seventh phase of General Elections. As many as 334 candidates are contesting for these 26 seats. These also include BJP's PM candidate Narendra Modi contesting from Vadodara and senior BJP leader LK Advani from Ahmedabad. Polling in the entire state will end in one single day of Seventh Phase. The results of the elections are due on May 16.

LS Polls: Polling for 89 seats in Seventh Phase

Ahmedabad/ Lucknow/ Amritsar/ Birbhum/ Jhansi, April 30 (ANI): Eighty-nine Lok Sabha seats spread over seven states and two Union Territories are observing polls in seventh phase of General Elections on Wednesday. These include all 26 seats in Gujarat, all 13 in Punjab; 17 seats in Andhra Pradesh, 14 in Uttar Pradesh, nine in West Bengal , seven in Bihar and one each in Jammu and Kashmir and Union Territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. Some of the prominent BJP candidates contesting in this phase are its PM candidate Narendra Modi, LK Advani, Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley, Murli Manohar Joshi and Uma Bharti. Also, prominent Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Madhusudan Mistry, Capt. Amarinder Singh and Sriprakash Jaiswal are contesting in this phase. The results of the General Elections will be announced on May 16.

Punjab, April 30 (ANI): All 13 constituencies in Punjab are observing polls in seventh of the nine phased Lok Sabha polls on Wednesday. As many as 253 candidates are contesting from various parties. These also include BJP's Arun Jaitley and Congress' Capt Amarinder Singh from Amritsar. The results of these General Elections are due on May 16.
