Congress, BJP fight over Modis Make in India campaign

New Delhi, Sept 25 (ANI): The Congress on Thursday claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ campaign is a re-statement of a lot of things that were already done by the UPA government. The BJP however, hailed Modi’s vision and said India would progress under his leadership.

PM Narendra Modi leaves for five-day US visit

New Delhi, Sep 25 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday leaves for United States of America on his five-day official visit. Clad in his signature half-sleeved kurta and Nehru Jacket, Modi boarded the Air India flight and waved to the country as he left for his maiden US visit. Modi will address the UN General Assembly and also hold a summit meeting with US President Barack Obama which would see trade and investment high on the agenda. Modi and Obama would interact on September 29 and 30 in Washington, which would also see the US President hosting a dinner in honour of the Indian Prime Minister. Modi has a packed schedule of 35 engagements during his September 26-30 visit.

Narendra Modi not meeting Nawaz Sharif in U.S. disappointing, says Pakistani journalists

New York, Sep 25 (ANI): Senior Pakistani journalists said on Thursday the cancellation of meeting between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif on the sidelines of United Nations General Assembly in New York bears bad omen. The journalists said the fact that both the prime ministers are not meeting will disappoint the people of the two neighbouring nations. Modi will arrive in the United States on September 26 aiming to woo corporate titans and crown a burst of investment-focused diplomacy. Senior editor of Pakistani newspaper 'Jang', Saleh Zafar, said had both the country chiefs met in New York, it would have been beneficial to improve the rocky relationship of India and Pakistan.

WB: Explosion in IISCO steel plant, several injured

Asansol, Sep 25 (ANI): Several workers were seriously injured on Thursday in a gas pipeline explosion at the IISCO Steel Plant (ISP) in West Bengal. The incident took place in Burnpur in Burdwan district, about 210 km from Kolkata. The injured have been admitted to the Burnpur IISCO Hospital.

Congress workers get into scuffle with police at youth aakrosh rally

New delhi, Sep 25 (ANI): Congress workers Youth Aakrosh rally, which was organized at the Jantar Mantar to protest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government turned violent on Thursday. Congress Youth-wing workers tried to break barricades shouting slogans and clashed with the police, after which the police had to resort to mild lathi charge to disperse them. The rally was organized to highlight Narendra Modi’s failure in fulfilling the promises he had made during the election campaign. Congress leader CP Joshi said that the anger is an outcome of the PM’s false promises and there is much difference in what he says and what he does.

Talks still on, eager to keep alliance intact: Rajiv Pratap Rudy on BJP-Shiv Sena alliance

Mumbai, Sep 25 (ANI): BJP leader Rajiv Pratap Rudy commenting on the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance in Maharashtra on Thursday said that talks are still on between the two parties and BJP is still eager to keep the alliance intact. Congress' Aakrosh Rally demonstration of defeated and discredited people: BJP

New Delhi, Sep 25 (ANI): BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Thursday said that the protest by Congress workers against Prime Minister Narendra Modi led NDA government at Jantar Mantar was a demonstration of defeat and discredited people. Earlier today, there was a scuffle between the police and Congress workers at Congress Yuva Aakrosh rally at Jantar Mantar. The protestors who were agitating against Prime Minister Narendra Modi government, were baton charged and a few of them were detained by the police.
