Authenticity of ADR report must be verified: Sitaram Yechury

New Delhi, Oct 25 (ANI): Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader Sitaram Yechury on Saturday said that the authenticity of the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) report, according to which the assets of NDA ministers has increased significantly after coming to power, must be verified. An analysis was done by Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and National Election Watch (NEW) by comparing the value assets of Cabinet Minister's filed for the Lok Sabha elections in May with those sent about five months later to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

Party ready for elections: BJP on JandK polls

One arrested, classes to resume from Monday: MN Reddi on Bangalore Rape Case

Bangalore, Oct 25 (ANI): Bangalore Police Commissioner MN Reddi on Saturday said that a school attendant has been arrested over the alleged rape of a three-year-old nursery student in Bangalore earlier this week. Reddi added that the case was investigated by a special team and the arrest has been made on the basis of the evidence collected. He further said that the schools from security point of view will re-open from Monday.

PM Modi inaugurates Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital

Mumbai, Oct 25 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai. The hospital, in its 90th year, has been completely rebuilt by Reliance Foundation, into a modern 19-storey tower with two heritage wings. The foundation is headed by Nita Ambani. For the first time, the hospital has collaboration with America's most renowned institutes like Johns Hopkins, MD Anderson Cancer Centre, Massachusetts General Hospital and University of Southern California. The hospital will reserve a fifth of its capacity for the underprivileged and provide 10 percent beds for free to the needy and another 10 percent at subsidised rates. Celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, ShahRukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Sachin Tendulkar among many others were also present during the inauguration.

Journalists hail Prime Minister Modi's media friendly interaction

New Delhi, Oct 25 (ANI): Journalists on Saturday hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's media friendly interaction and looked forward to more such sessions with them in future. Expressing her views on the first media interaction, ANI News Editor, Smita Prakash, said this was Prime Minister's baby step towards more friendly meetings in the near future. Youth Congress holds protest over black money

Bangalore, Oct 25 (ANI): Youth Congress workers staged a protest on Saturday against the central government for failing to bring black money back into the country, as promised during the Lok Sabha elections. The protesters also raised slogans like 'Why these double standards? Why make false promises?' The Centre had last week told the Supreme Court that it cannot disclose the names of all those having black money stashed abroad as it violated the double taxation avoidance agreement.

Singhvi says Chidambaram has said nothing negative about Gandhis

70 suffer injuries during unique 'Hingot' fight in Indore

Indore, Oct 25 (ANI): At least 70 people suffered injuries during the traditional 'Hingot' war in Indore in Madhya Pradesh. The age-old traditional 'Hingot' or mock fight, is fought with fireballs made of Hingot fruit between two groups acting as warriors a day after Diwali. Doctor Neha Jain, on duty at the festival ground, said people with serious injuries were admitted in hospital. Indore district authorities made elaborate arrangements for organizing the 'Hingot' fight in Gautampura town, about 55km from Indore. The fruit stuffed with explosive mixture is launched after igniting the fuse made on its end. A bamboo strip is fitted at its back for better handling and aiming just like an arrow.

Jacki Weaver to Star in 'Zeroville'

New Delhi, Oct 25 (ANI): Jacki Weaver is set to star in James Franco's upcoming film ' Zeroville'. The two-time Oscar nominee will play the lead role of Dotty, a film editor who acts as a mentor and friend to James Franco 's character, a web portal reported. Jharkhand and J&K assembly polls to be held in five phases from November 25: EC - Part - 2

New Delhi, Oct 25 (ANI): Chief Election Commissioner VS Sampath on Saturday while addressing a press conference announced the dates for the assembly elections to be held in Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand. He said that the elections will be held in five phases in both the states, with the first phase elections being held on 25th of November. He added that the first phase elections will also be held in the three assembly constituencies of New Delhi. He further said that counting for both the states as well as for Delhi by polls will be held in on December 23.
