AAP arms volunteers with spy cameras ahead of polls

New Delhi, Feb 05 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party leader Atishi Marlena on Thursday said it was providing recording devices and spy cameras to its volunteers to help them curb the practice of liquor and money distribution during the assembly polls. Meanwhile, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal expressed hope that his party would perform well in the crucial Delhi Assembly polls. The assembly polls in Delhi will be held on Saturday is seen as a direct fight between the BJP and AAP. The results would be announced on February 10.

Delhi Elections: Campaign enters last leg

New Delhi, Feb 05 (ANI): As the campaigning for the Delhi Assembly elections ends this evening, BJP, Congress and Aam Aadmi Party are making all out efforts to convince people to vote for their candidates by making promises. Addressing a rally in Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that his government is working towards providing job opportunities to youth. He also made an indirect attack on AAP in connection with alleged dubious funding. Rejecting BJP's allegation of receiving dubious funds, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal dared the Government to arrest him if he has violated any law. Targetting the BJP Government, Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi asked whether the lives of common people have improved in the past seven months. He also goaded AAP for not holding any protest against corruption since the new government came to power.

Matang Sinh arrest row: LC Goyal replaces Anil Goswami as Home Secretary

New Delhi, Feb 05 (ANI): LC Goyal has replaced Anil Goswami as the new Union Home Secretary, following a controversy over arrest of former Union Minister involved in Saradha chit fund scam. Anil Goswami, earlier on Wednesday, was sacked for allegedly interfering with the Central Bureau of Investigation over the arrest by the agency of Saradha Scam accused Matang Sinh. According to reports, Goswami had earlier in the day been summoned by the Prime Minister's Office over the issue and was invited to put forth his version. Goswami, a 1978 IAS officer, was due to retire in July after serving a two-year tenure and was the first bureaucrat from Jammu and Kashmir to rise to the post of Home Secretary.
