New Delhi, Feb 27 (ANI): British High Commissioner to India, James Bevan in a lavish celebration, commemorated the 63rd year of monarch Queen Elizabeth II to the throne. The High Commissioner invited important Indian delegates to his residence in New Delhi to not only celebrate Elizabeth’s reign but to mark 200 years of service of the Gorkhas of the Indian Army with the British Army and also 800 years of the Magna Carta that laid foundations for laws in both countries. Bevan added Elizabeth retained a great affection for India and wished Her Majesty many more years in office. Water tanker mows down two people in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Feb 27 (ANI): Two people were killed when a water tanker travelling at a high speed knocked down pedestrians and a stationary motorcycle at a traffic signal in Bengaluru. The accident, which took place near a mall on Bangalore International Airport Road was caught in a CCTV camera near the site. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of East Traffic Division, MNBR Prasad, confirmed two deaths. The driver of the tanker has been arrested and was produced before the magistrate, Prasad informed. The pedestrian, identified as Arpitha, succumbed to her injuries in the hospital while another person riding pillion on a motorcycle, Anand, died on the spot. Amritsar, Feb 27 (ANI): Police in Punjab seized 50 kilograms of heroin worth 250 crore in international market and produced three accused in a court. Sleuths of counter intelligence wing of the police also seized 250 grams opium, a pistol and two motorcycles. The accused have been identified as Angrez Singh, Raja Singh and Joginder Singh, who are farmers. He added that the drugs were smuggled from Pakistan.
