New Delhi, Jan 2 (ANI): The Maharashtra government on Thursday partially accepted the Adarsh housing scam report. Chief minister Prithviraj Chavan made the announcement at a press conference after a meeting of the state cabinet. The stage for review was set after Rahul Gandhi last week disapproved the decision of the state government to reject the commission report and said it should be reconsidered. India cancelled the controversial Rs. 3,600-crore contract for 12 helicopters meant for VVIPs with UK-based AgustaWestland amid allegations that deal was riddled with kickbacks on Wednesday. The announcement came after a meeting between Defence Minister AK Antony and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday. New Delhi, Jan 2 (ANI): India and Maldives on Thursday agreed on a roadmap to boost cooperation in maritime security along the Indian Ocean, following a delegation-level meet between visiting President, Yameen Abdul Gayoom and Indian Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, in New Delhi. President Gayoom is on a four-day trip to India, which ends on January 04. Addressing mediapersons, Gayoom said that the countries in the Indian Ocean region must resolve issues concerning the maritime security. Gayoom said that he and his council of ministers were committed to boost bilateral ties with India and improve relations, keeping aside the past disputes.
