Pink City Jaipur hosts international stone fair

Jaipur, Feb 1 (ANI): An international exposition on stone industry is drawing huge crowd of customers, buyers, architects, builders, developers and others to pink city Jaipur. The four-day eighth edition of India Stonemart 2015 began on January 29 with an aim to showcase the world of natural dimensional stones, ancillary products and services. Around 300 participants including around 100 foreign participants are showcasing various kinds of stones and their products at the exhibition. Stonemart serves as a platform to the exhibitors to promote their products, services and brand image among the consumers from across the globe and establish business linkages. An industrialist from Turkey, Mert said Indian markets are well trusted around the world and they have been trading with India for close to 10 years. Feb 1, 2015

Car rally in Nagpur for visually-impaired

Nagpur, Feb 1 (ANI): A Blind Car Rally for visually-impaired citizens began with much gusto in Nagpur on Sunday. At the rally, though the vehicle was driven by regular drivers, they were being guided on directions by visually-impaired citizens using a navigator in Braille. Around 100 visually impaired navigators were selected to drive across pre- selected city circuit. The event, which is a flagship initiative of Nagpur Round Table 83, aims at making society aware of the challenges faced by visually impaired people. Feb 1, 2015

Head-on collision of two trucks kills 11 people, injures 13 others

Jodhpur, Feb 01 (ANI): Eleven people were killed and 13 others injured in a head-on collision of two trucks in Rajasthan on Sunday. The injured were rushed to a local hospital in Jodhpur for treatment. The passengers of the mini-truck were en-route to Bolunda village in Pali district to cast their votes in the panchayat (village council) polls. Reportedly, out of the 13 injured, seven are in critical condition. A survivor of the accident, Rekha said that things happened suddenly. The people travelling were artisans, all from the same village. Police also reached the hospital to take stock of the situation. The police will investigate the matter to ascertain the reasons behind the accident. Feb 1, 2015

New Delhi, Feb 1 (ANI): Politicos from various parties gave mixed rections a day after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) released its manifesto for the upcoming Delhi polls, unleashing a slew of promises, including the passing of the Jan Lokpal Bill, enhanced security for women and full statehood for the national capital. The party also reiterated its plans of making Delhi a free Wi-Fi city, installing CCTV cameras in public transport as well as special reservations for senior citizens and the youth. Arvind Kejriwal also proposed a housing scheme post retirement for government employees and a cashless medical scheme.
